| chriso (164), London, England | | November 25, 2009 Excellent spot quite close to Harvard. 30 taps with a plenty of New England stuff which was just what I was looking for. Sat at the bar and worked our way through 8 of them on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Don’t know how frequent the rotation is as, despite intending to return, I never did for one reason or another. Friendly atmosphere meant that we chatted to various barstool neighbours throughout the afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were cheaper than the norm in Boston with some options at $3.95 a pint. You can also do a 4 beer sampler should you choose. Didn’t eat. | | yemenmocha (63), Glendale, Arizona | | October 7, 2009 Ordinary appearance from the outside and inside as well, but the tap selection is rather good with regional craft beer being the focus and hoppy beers in particular (Flower Power, among others). Troeg’s had a presence as well, and it was hard to pass on this great amber.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable, with little resistance to allowing me to sample one or two prior to ordering. Prices were normal for the area.
Nice location if doing a pub crawl between Davis Square and Harvard Square.
| | MartinT (348), Montreal, Quebec | | July 8, 2009 Although the many taps make sure you can get a few pints of something you like, the variety in styles was lacking this summer day. Lots of Golden Ales, IPAs and Hefeweizens. I liked the fact they showcased local breweries though. The dark wood atmosphere felt a tad worn, but the youthful crowd sure tried to make the place feel livelier. The food we had was standard pub fare and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. I’d come back here only if I wanted variety after going to Cambridge Brewing Co. too often in the same week(end), but otherwise there is nothing in Cambridge that even comes close to what Will Meyers offers at CBC. | | mvcramer (14), Arlington, Massachusetts | | November 10, 2007 Awesome place. Have a selection of 31 draft beers to choose from and they go out of their way to bring in some brewers that you never get on draft on the east coast (i.e. Left Hand). Even better than the selection is the service. Knowledgeable and friendly people where there’s great pub grub and an awesome selection of beers... can’t beat it for a Saturday afternoon. Thanks guys! | | ClarkVV (90), Allston, Massachusetts | | February 22, 2006 Cambridge Common has a small, but comfortable interior (though it looks questionable from outside). Wood bar and quite clean, with fair prices in Boston area. Tap list has nothing you should go out of your way for if you are from out of town, but is a nice change of pace if you live in the area. Stuff like Victory Prima Pils on tap, lots of DFH, Offshore, Magic Hat, Berkshire. Havent had the food. Was not overly crowded the few times I have been in at night. |
