68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20
Lots of taps, little to drink. It seemed like most of the things I asked for had íjust kickedí. On the plus side, Cap Aleís cavernous, clean, professional. This place seems to do brisk trade in food, and most of the space is devoted to a table service restaurant. Prices ranged from cheap to ludicrous depending on the beer. Overall, definitely a place to stop by, but not a local institution by any means.

Located on the main square of Harrisonburg across the street from both a courthouse and a church. (I donít get to write that very often.) I parked on the street. The building, as all of these capital ale houses seem to be, was cavernous. They had close to 80 taps downstairs and another 20 upstairs. They didnít have a lot that was super rare but they had a lot of locals and itís all craft. They have a special on Monday night with $2 hamburgers. Very nice! The prices let iu know that weíre within, at least in a spirtual sense, the DC metroplex. Still This is my third of five Capital Ale Houses and Iíve been impresses with them all.

Stopped here for dinner after a full day of hiking. I was looking for Callyís that is no more. Although very clean decor kinda standard highend corporate tavern feel. great selection of taps though, not a ton rare but i was there for virginia brews which i got. service was average and food was pretty good.

The newest Capital Ale House location, located in the old Callyís Brewing location which I will try not to hold against it, as I still miss Callyís a great deal. Large open space, lots of dark wood, a long curved bar without the typical Capital Ale House ice strip. There is a small bar upstairs as well as much more dining space, a game room and access to a large patio. Most of the taps are downstairs with 12 or so upstairs. I didnít eat or look at the menu. Prices on the beer were solid. Good beer selection, both foreign and domestic micros. The service was about average. THEY SWITCHED THE MENS AND WOMENS RESTROOMS FROM THE CALLYíS DAYS, which nearly caused an embarassing incident.
