A coworker friend of my wife suggested this to us as she found out I was a beer aficianado. This was an unexpected find as she mentioned to us that this place had their own beer. I had not heard of this through ratebeer, so naturally, I was skeptical. As we entered I saw an interesting tap list including Rush River Bubblejack IPA, Youngs Double Chocolate Stout, Fullers ESB, as well as a bunch of Chatterbox specialty beers (IPA, Belgian White, Abbey Dubbel, Brown Ale, and Maibock). I asked the bartender who made these beers and he told me Point brewery. I ordered the abbey dubbel and it was pretty decent. However, when looking to enter this as a rating, Point does not make a belgian abbey dubbel. My guess is that the beer was Schell Snowstorm, as the bartender also mentioned to me that it was a winter seasonal. Still, I was somewhat impressed with this little dive bar having a pretty decent beer selection. The ambiance was also kind of cool (eclectic) with a diverse crowd and people playing interesting board games and arcade games, popular in the 80’s.
