| Steve_0 (38), Denver, Colorado | | May 22, 2012 Very cool place, with a ton of different belgians on tap. Also, have a number of quality craft brews from around the country with a decent bottle list, as well. They offer a lot of the "regular" belgians on tap and have 3 different sampler trays. The food was great and came out very quickly. I can echo what other people have said that prices can tend to be on the high-side, but I am willing to pay the extra $ for such a great atmosphere. Also, you can get burgers/sandwiches and frites for ~$11. Great place and one of my favorite spots in Denver. | | rhialistic (13), Denver, Colorado | | April 1, 2012 Nice looking place with very friendly service and ever-expanding selection of taps and bottles. Best craft beer import selection in town. I heard they will be brewing their own beers soon, which could be really cool, will keep an eye on the Cheeky Monk! | | craftbeerdesign (92), Alpharetta, Georgia | | February 17, 2012 cool Belgian bar / restaurant with a solid Belgian tap / bottle list. good food, nice setting, good service. will go back. | zachary23 (1), Denver, Colorado does not count - explanation | | January 28, 2012 Always love their beers. Bit pricey. | | sextjk5 (10), Denver, Colorado | | November 27, 2011 Solid, though i find it a little cookie cutter, non personalized and expensive. | | Beershine (540), The Sunshine State, Florida | | October 9, 2011 Great atmosphere buzzing with people, and actually feels like it could be a place in Brussels. The service was excellent when we were there, in spite of the craziness they were smiling and on the ball. Beer list in general is ok, it might have been bumped up for the GABF crowd when we were there because it included some special gems on tap. | | Camons (67), Hasselager, Denmark | | August 23, 2011 Belgian beerbar on Colfdax av. near the center of Denver. Inside is rather dark with brick walls, heavy brown tables and chairs, but still feels a little "cafelike". Good tap selection with mostly belgians + 1 or 2 Lost Abbey. Food is good, had moules frittes one time and on the other visit was a fresh ouster / Rogue Beer event, ousters was better then the beers. Rather slow service, but on the other hand the places was packed. Rather expensive compared to other places downtown Denver | | emeinz (25), Minnesota | | July 15, 2011 Stopped here when I was on vacation. Loved it so much it is now a regular stop when I go out there. Food is good and the staff are friendly. The beer is amazing. They always have the proper glasses and they have some of the best Belgian beers around. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | March 25, 2011 (Visited 10/2009): Cheeky Monk is located on Colfax Ave on the east side of downtown Denver. Street parking is available nearby.
The interior is dark with brick and wood, plus some large pieces of art. The bar is located immediately inside and wraps around 3 sides. There is a chalkboard above the bar showing what beers are available. The rest of the café is devoted to table seating.
Cheeky Monk has around 20 different Belgian or Belgian-style beers available on draught. Brewers include Lost Abbey, St. Bernardus, Gouden Carolus, Duvel, Kasteel and others. Just about all the beers have the corresponding glassware as well. In addition there are several Belgians available in bottles from Chimay, Corsendonk, Lindeman’s, New Belgium and several others.
Service was good on a busy weekday evening. The bartender was very attentive and chatted with us the entire time about beer.
I had a Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich for dinner and it was very good, although I was so full from the Denver pub crawl that I wasn’t able to eat very much of it.
Overall I really liked this place and would definitely visit again and would recommend it to any beer lover visiting Denver. | gabfjunkies (6), does not count - explanation | | February 18, 2011 Great place to find some hard to find Belgian beers.
Nice atmosphere inside. Outside is colfax so just be mindful of your surroundings.
Easy to drop 50 bucks on 3 beers here and walk out half blind.
A great place but be careful with how much you imbibe. |
