huge room. Service seemed friendly enough (I was with a Thai friend). Although it wasn’t on the menu I was able to get a flight of all six of their beers. Their German food was fairly authentic (although the mustard wasn’t). I’d go back again.

I wish they’d make this place easier to find. It’s stuck in the middle of nowhere. Go to the BIG C on the NE side of town. In the shopping complex, it’s on your 2nd turning right. It’s 80-100 Baht by tuk-tuk from the city centre The evening started off well. Good attentive service. I started going thru the 5 tap beers. I got to nr 3 and the other 2 were off (seasonals?) which was a shame

Large beer hall with tall ceilings and mixed seatings overseeing big stage where Thai traditional and later a pop music show occurs - fun, varied and strange! Beers include a lager, banana strong Weizen, a decent Dunkel, 7.5% Weizen Bock, and their seasonal Songkran 7.6% Bock that’s full bodied with slight sugarcane and lychee flavors. Nothing spectacular, but for Thailand, really good and in general the bigger beers are quite drinkable...the weizen has the heavy banana flavors. The food menu has a page of German sausage offerings, and pages of Thai goodies such as spicy fish stomach salad, spicy prawn-jelly salad, hot fried sayotae, pork-holy basil fried rice, ostrich cooked in forest style soup, local spicy frog soup, fried sea fish ball, steamed snake fish & chili, tosu fish, sicy sheeps rib, mixed rongbeer sausage, spicy pork knuckle soup, sour egg with herb, steamed pigeon pea, deep fried prawns head, and fried chicken’s joint. Difficult choices for sure! Brewer John Ulrich Marienka is the second brewer at this place and he used to brew in Duisburg, Germany. He relates some of his challenges while making sure my mug is filled with dunkels and the Songkran bock. I see some tables have 3, 5 or 10 liter towers of beer. The place is happening with and without power. Overall, this is the most bizarre brewhouse I’ve been to...very fun!

Big and boxy, but with live bands that are pretty damn good and with 6 decent micros on tap, how can I really complain in a country that is turning into a beer wasteland? Food is typical German fair and is pretty tasteless, I wouldn’t bother if you don’t have to. Both my friend’s and my meals were bland as can be. Great service with lots of staff and reasonable prices for beer. I haven’t been to all the brewpubs in Thailand, but I feel confident that this is the best in the country based on selection and quality of beers. A must visit if you are in the north part of Thailand
