| BlackHaddock (175), , England | | April 3, 2012 Here on the afternoon of Saturday 1st May, Kentucky Derby day. The bar area overlooks the slot machines on the floor below, the bar was full of very noisey horse followers. Behind the bar was an equally noisey barlady in a sports shirt of some kind (a Chicago one?).
I ordered a taster selection, my wife a cup of tea. With a grunt my two storey, round taster tray was plonked down onto our dirty table. The floor was no better, French Fries and a knife under my stool, knapkins and the remains of a burger bun under my wifes. A minute later the hot water and tea bag arrives for the wife, I ask which beer is which and am told to read the filthy menu to work out what beer it is from the nine given, there being a number under each small glass.
The beers were (to be fair) fine, apart from one which had a smell like Jagermeister and a taste like Bazooka Bubble Gum.
We left because of the loadness of the customers, their bet runner and the courseness of the barlady. Those having food seemed to be enjoying it (unlike the people who had our table before us, who chucked it on the floor). It looked good, but we were not hungry and we didn’t feel welcome anyway.
| | kathouse (13), Nevada | | January 14, 2012 Wait staff was very busy and not very helpful. Got my beer at the bar. Place is very small and in the corner of the casino. Beer selection is tiny. | lukin (2), Ontario does not count - explanation | | August 9, 2011 Small place above the casino. Sampler was pretty good, although one of them was a root beer. My food was good, the deep dish pizza. Service was good, although not terribly knowledgeable about the beers. Good place to go in Vegas for decent beer since I dont think I’ve ever seen as much miller lite in my life in that town. | | BeerLimey (113), California | | June 21, 2011 Very small bar, kind of a loft above the casino. Disappointing service and disappointing beers. They do have a 9 set sampler but when you see one is root beer and one is a black and tan that really cuts it down. | | MartinT (469), Montreal, Quebec | | August 4, 2010 This dark and tiny bar at the Four Queens is really not inviting (to me, anyway), but the house brew menu was enough for me to grab a pint of something I really wanted. I didn’t feel like staying, so I got the brew to go and walked about old Vegas. At least, there is something enjoyable about this town when you are not gambling. | | djd07 (22), Houston, Texas | | March 28, 2010 Little bar at the top of the stairs near the entrance of the casino off Main st in Old Vegas. About 7 beers on tap from Chicago Brewing Co. All the beers i tried were very good and the bartender was very helpful. Growlers available with cheaper prices for refills. A definite stop while in Old Vegas. | | DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | March 14, 2010 Tried to visit during Smitty’s 40th, but we arrived 15 minutes after it closed. I’m basing my rating on having been here a couple times before, but for some reason never rating it. Beers are pretty average, with a few above average, and food is typical pub fare but tasty. Service was excellent when we were there, and despite a packed house we were not overlooked. If you are on a budget for time or money, Triple Seven has better beers, food, AND value IMO. | | Strykzone (71), Wood River, Illinois | | August 7, 2009 Located in the Fremont St. area of Las Vegas. I was delighted to find a brewpub in this area. Chicago Brewing pretty much lived up to my excitement. They had about 4 of their beers on tap, all of which I tried. Two hefes (one a blueberry), a brown, and a stout were sampled. They were generally sweet but felt wonderful in the mouth, something I found typical of Vegas brews. The stout was a nitrogen infused version and looked great as it separated head from liquid. The brewpub was located upstairs in a corner of the casino and was not large. It was nice and clean. Bartenders were pretty informed of their beers and were pleasant to talk to. A nice place. If in this area again, however, I will go on to Triple 7 which had much better beer and accomodations. | | boomerbrew (14), Texas | | May 22, 2009 I already gave a pretty good rating on the beer and is not reflected on restaurant rating since I had already ordered it in the bar.
The service here SUCKED. We had to wait for about an hour but it was ok while we gambled. Then we had to wait in line. I guess you get what you pay for. They messed up my wife’s order. We paid on the way out and hade to wait in line again. I felt bad because the sorry restaurant didn’t straighten out the bill since the waitress gave us a higher dollar steak. The difference had to come out of her own earnings. Sorry ASS Vegas restaurant! So I felt compelled to give her a normal tip. | | sebletitje (200), Enghien, Belgium | | May 15, 2009 The second best brewery in Vegas.
Decent beer selection, area is inside the casino but not directly in the middle. Small with a good choice of pizzas.
Samplers were free if you play the slot machine.
Not the best beers around, but they had an amazing weizenbock and interesting vanilla blueberry wheat.
The main Chicago brewery had all 15 beers on tap, this one only had 8 and the root beer.
