| theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | February 27, 2012 Visited twice during a recent trip - once late afternoon on a Thursday, again around 8ish on a Friday night. Location is semi industrial, with some development creeping in across the street. Very much set up as a bar / restaurant stuck to the front of the brewery. Ambiance is pretty straightforward, bigger bar, tables around the corner towards the back. I sat at the bar both times, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The beers are solid (I believe they had 7 different beers on), and I had a pizza which was tasty, though certainly nothing special. Worth checking out. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | December 3, 2011 not a fan of the decor of this place, very generic, reminds me of a chain... selection was good 5 regulars, but 3 one offs including 2 hop odysseys... service was helpful but the bartender totally clueless about beer other than their own... food is qulaity... worth a stop if in the brewery district | | jsquire (47), St. Marys, Ohio | | October 21, 2011 This is actually a better restaurant than a brewpub. The food is more upscale than your average bar, and I was able to get in and out quickly for lunch with a nice salad and a solid octoberfest. They have a small selection of their own beers, which are all solid if not great. They do have other beers and a full bar. It will get crowded if you show up too late on the weekends. | | rondphoto (15), Lakeside Park, Kentucky | | October 18, 2011 Nestled near the river between a junk yard and other industrial stuff, this didn’t hold a lot of promise. Once inside, all is forgiven. Obviously, they will emphasize their own brews. I tried them all, most were satisfactory to good. Service was top-notch, as was the food selection the three members of my party had. Worth a short trip and/or a repeat visit. | | chriso (258), London, England | | March 5, 2011 Visited in March 2010. A modern joint that tries to look stylish but ends up feeling rather corporate and identikit. Can’t say I was too taken with this place. Perhaps Friday at 5pm wasn’t the best time to visit as the place was packed with after-work yuppie types, more of whom seemed to be drinking cocktails than the house beers. Yet, despite the crowds, it seemed strangely lacking in atmosphere. Unless, that is, your definition of atmosphere encompasses being surrounded by braying yuppies whose idea of unwinding after a long week at work is to yell at the top of their voices about that work so that anyone within earshot can be in no doubt how important they are (in their eyes). Coupled with that, they had only four of their beers available. To be fair, the undeniably efficient bar staff were apologetic for the shortage. So, it was four beers and away. Would I go back? Probably, if thought there were going to be beers on that I couldn’t get elsewhere. But not at 5pm on a Friday. | | MbpBugeye (22), Columbus, Ohio | | January 16, 2011 CBC is the best brewery in Columbus, by far. Unfortunately this restaurant is not run by the same type of brain thats behind the brewery. Granted, the food is good, and they do have good beer pairing suggestions. The only thing is the selection is limited to only CBC beers and some BMC bottles. You basically know what beers are going to be here. There might only be one surprise limited run beer plus the month’s Hop Odyssey. Other than that its the flagship only. I cant totally bash the place though. The food is really great, but expensive. The beers are all very solid, especially the IPA and Hop Odyssey beers. The bartenders seem to only get mildly briefed in the beers they are selling and not many of them seem to be interested in beers. I just come here to get my growlers filled. | | gormanb (17), Bowling Green, Ohio | | December 31, 2010 Nice ambiance, the place is classy and hip without being pretentious. The staff were knowledgeable about beer, which is always great, but not too prompt or reliable when it came to service. They only offer their own beers on tap, but thats nothing really to complain about. Food was great and reasonably priced (lunch). This was a nice brew pub, i will return for great specials and beers if im in the area, but its not special enough to make a trip just to visit the brewery. | | bb0bbby (13), | | December 4, 2010 Not a wide selection but their own. It is one of my favorite brews. The sampler is a good value. | | sparksjustin (11), Columbus, Ohio | | November 25, 2010 Cool place. Not a lot of other beers other than their own but what they have is tasty. The food is good too. | | crizay (128), Brook Park , Ohio | | December 23, 2009 Went here on a busy Friday night and the place was packed so we had to stand which was fine. Not as big as I expected but everything looked nice. Decent sized bar so standing and ordering wasn’t a problem. We had a few different beers and got a growler filled. This place wasn’t far from everything and I would check it out again. |
