| solidfunk (39), Ontario | | May 8, 2012 Friendly staff. I mulled over beers and wandered around for an hour and they bore with me. Has most that Wegman’s has and more, but doesn’t let you split up sixers. About ten taps of growler draught when I was there. A good import section with lots of Danish and Belgian goods. Lots of imp stouts, Belgian styles. A few cheap bombers ($4) and the rest usually fall in the 7-12$ range. Filled up a backpack of beer here but unfortunately couldn’t go crazy for fear of raising the wrath of Canadian customs. | | TheJester (33), Peterborough, Ontario | | March 19, 2012 A hard one to rate. Not much to look at, and the selection isn’t extensive. But the ones they’ve got are well chosen, both domestic and foreign. Lotsa space in the aisles. Helpful staff. Very handy if you’re coming from Niagara Falls, Canada. | | RayOhm (32), Fergus, Ontario | | May 25, 2011 ive had mixed service at this location. and i dont find the selection nearly as good as others ive been too. still, its the best beer store in Niagara falls (that ive found thus far). and its so close to the border | | ontbeermaker (127), Ontario | | May 22, 2011 Easy to miss this place unless you know its there. Appears small from the outside. It isnt a huge store but they make good use of the space. Lots of macro large packs towards the left and back of the place. but theres coolers full of six packs and singles towards the back right in the middles theres a few shelves lined with craft seasonals and imports. Definitely worth a stop if your in the area looking for some craft brews | | cratez (100), London, Ontario | | May 2, 2011 The good: has everything you can find at Wegmans and more, with a dozen or so taps for growler fills. Huge variety, well-organized shelves, lots of refrigerated craft beer.
The bad: grisly, unwelcoming employees, dumpy location with a deserted, sketchy-looking parking lot, fulfills every stereotype of your typical cheap American liquor store (overly bright lights, dirty floor, customers smoking beside ice box out front).
A destination for its gigantic selection, just don’t expect to be ’wowed’ by the service or aesthetics.
| | blipp (68), Newark, New Jersey | | August 11, 2008 Not a huge selection, but very close to my house. Growler fills are a huge plus. Some bottles are available as singles but others can’t be broken up. Not quite the selection available at premier but a bit cheaper. | | mds (100), Toronto, Ontario | | July 31, 2007 The closest of all of the Consumer’s locations to Toronto with a pretty solid selection.
Like others have mentioned of this chain, they don’t split up six packs, but otherwise the selection of bombers are the best you’ll see.
The import selection pales in comparison to Premier but I suppose that is to be expected.
Awesome selection of rotating growler fills is great and reasonably priced.
It’s definitely worth it to stop at one of the locations during a trip to the area. | | IPFreely (143), Sanborn, New York | | June 14, 2007 Finally, a decent beer stop in Niagara Falls! Nice selection of regional micros, and a few solid imports. Better prices than Premier Gourmet, and the ability to have growlers filled is a huge plus. They’ll fill pretty much any growler you bring in; it doesn’t have to be a Consumer’s growler. My only major complaint is not being able to split up 6 packs or buy singles. Oh well. It’s definitely a solid stop. |
