bobbo16 (4), Copley, Ohio does not count - explanation | | January 30, 2011 Excellent beverage store. They have a selection of wine, beer and liquor that can be off the beaten path of most stores in the area. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | December 19, 2007 (Visited 11/2005): This beer store is located north of Fairlawn on Cleve-Mass Rd near I-77/I/271. It’s in a small strip mall on a 2-lane highway and parking is plentiful.
The bulk of the store is devoted to wine, as the name implies. However the back section of the store is all beer, most of it in coolers but some in cases on the floor. The presentation isn’t spectacular but so what.
The beer selection is pretty impressive. GLBC, Buckeye, Bell’s, Southern Tier, Stone, Alesmith and others are represented. There is a decent presence of imports from Italy to Israel to Belgium especially. One belgian - Urthel Hop-It - I have never even seen before.
The service here is good. I am always a little leery about buying beer in a wine store because some clerks tend to look down their nose at you but not here. As I came up to the counter the clerk was conversing about some beer with a gentleman who was buying only a bottle of Scotch. Clearly they care about beer at this place.
Overall this is a good spot to hit in the No Man’s Land between Akron and Cleveland. Also it’s not too far from Fairlawn and more great beer choices at Acme and Mustard Seed Market. This place is definitely worth seeking out. |
