An out of the way place, I had some really good directions. The street they are on wasn’t on my map, easily identifiable by the big Baird Beer logo on the front. Bar staff spoke a little English, but seemed very reluctant to speak to me. Beer menu is mostly in Kanji, no English version available, I was lucky the people next to me where very friendly and helped me find a beer I wanted. The taps looked classy and they have a great range of spirits. Would have been a lovely experience if the bar staff were a little more friendly. Also the glassware here is really thin, I thought it was plastic at first.

10 taps of Japanese craft plus a good range of single malt. Very smart place. Seats about a dozen. Owner always in a waistcoat. I always feel under dressed! Place packs up with beer geeks fast.Good beer, looked after. Thin glasses - dont squeeze them! Decent range of Japanese micros inclduing Fujisakura, Shiga Kogen, Baird, Harvestmoon, Iwate Kura, North Island etc. Food is cooked in the tiny stove and simple ramen or pre smoked dishes. Not a restaurant! Prices about 1.000 for 500ml, so reasonable value.

Wonderfully classy, quiet and tiny beer and whiskey bar that can accomodate no more than 15 punters. 10 taps inc 2 handpulls. Not a word of English spoken by staff so didn’t have a clue as to what I was drinking. Pints priced at Yen 950 to 1000. Amazing range of single malts (maybe 70+). I’d love Melbourne to have a wine bar like this, let alone a beer bar. Completely change’s an Australian’s view of how beer can be presented on-premise.

Nice, relaxing place with a good feel to it. The master is nice and knows his stuff. Beers are poured very well into the lightest and thinnest beer glasses I have seen. Good place to visit with decent prices and a good stock. Lots of whiskey, too.

Small, tough to find, but worth it, strictly Japanese microbrew bar. Nice and quiet, also walking distance from Yokohama brewery.

Some good ji biru on tap...but served in hard plastic glasses! Dunno this is a pretty chilled place. recommended if you are looking to try a few special beers

Quite and somewhat serious small place in the back streets kinda near Chinatown. 10 taps always priced at 1000 yen/500ml, 700 yen/300ml pint. 100% micros, rotating selection. Not a place for groups, but a nice place to try some fairly rare stuff. Less than 5 min from Yokohama Blend Meister so worth doing both in same night. Staff is courteous, but not overly friendly. 5 min walk from Kannai Station. Take the North exit. Go through ticket gates and hang a left to leave station. Outside of station, hang another left, walk 10 seconds and then you will hit a big road (runs in front of north part of station). Hang a right at this road. Walk about six blocks (past Comfort Inn). When you get to MUFG bank (big red sign), hang a right, walk one block, turn left (you should see a 7-11 now) and walk 5 meters then make a right down a small street (before 7-11). It is on the left hand side about 15 meters down. Tricky place to find.

Small, back alley bar. Rather classy feeling, I was wearing a nice shirt and jeans and felt a little underdressed. 10 taps, two of which were hand pumps. All were Japanese micros. Available in 500ml and 320ml sizes at 1000 and 700 yen regardless of your beer choice. Seating for about 10 people at the bar, and two tables, as well. Didn’t have the food, but it smelled nice. All made to order so it did seem to take a while. Also had a very nice selection of whiskey. I’ll definitly be back to this place.
