Nice place, industrial interior, not very crowded during our visit which was late afternoon. Loved the neighborhood and the canal. Service was good. Selection was mostly Crate, but also Saltaire, Evil Twin, Oakham, Ska Brewing. I believe 6 cask and 4 kegs were on during our visit. Worth visiting.

Visited a few times. Large warehouse conversion on the canal a few minutes walk from Hackney Wick, a barge on the canal does cruises and also sells beer and cocktails. Food is wood fired pizzas. Good range of Crate beers and a handful of guests available. Prices are OK, service is good. Gets busy at weekends so struggle to get a seat. Decent spot and a nice place to try their beers

Probably fair to say itís a very hipster place - even looking from outside. However, good selection of beers and very friendly staff. I do wish trendy places would stop ruining my pizzas with plants though.

The pizzas looked amazing and smelled so. I did not eat one. Nice place, with an excellent canalside setting. Good slew of beers. Great stuff.

Great guys that took me under their wing and gave me a whirlwind tour. Massive growth at this 3 year old brewery means they use a mobile canning line, are putting in a kombucha set up and have grown from a small brewpub to taking over most of the yard they share with Howling Hops. Very cool place but prices seemed a bit high. I was surprised to find they had a big terrace right on a canal, too bad it was raining...

Great place to visit!!! Here you can taste their own beers, Crate, that are quiet good. But what makes the difference is the ambience, in front of the canal, the fresh pizzas, and the music sessions on weekends! I love it!

Always manic. Pizzas are great. Beers are cask and keg aswell as some bottles. Often have guest beers from local rivals. A very trendy rough urban industrial decor... in an industrial estate! Worth the detour especially now Howling Hops got their tank bar next door. 5 mins walk from Hackney Wick overground station. Superb setting on a canal bank. The downside is it can take ages to get served and the toilets are inadequate for so many people... a unisex toilet can take 15 mins in the queue so be prepared!

Visited on a sunny day. Quite crowded. Loud music, hip crowd. Decent beers though, and great pizza!

We visited Crate Brewery Tap on Saturday 2nd May 2015. It was very easy to find, we got to Hackney Wick via the Overground from Stratford and once you alight at this stop you can see the Trading Estate where itís based immediately below and ahead of you. So you walk out of the station turn left and at the first left (itís just a few yards) turn left again and follow this road down past the skate park on your RH side through the No Entry part of the Trading Estate, (donít worry the No Entry sign concerns vehicle movements only) the brewery is ahead of you on your RH side. It is housed in a large white building as I recall (and it is a building as opposed to a more typical functional unit) it backs onto what I though was a canal but what I believe is actually a section of the Lea Valley navigation. On entry the bar is ahead to your right and is set at a jaunty angle, sort of diagonal to the layout of the building. If you continue you can get to the rear of the building where there are a number of bench seats and tables looking out onto the water. Beer choice was mostly their own beers on tap with a Burning Sky and Fyne Ales offering. The Dugges beer I asked for had unfortunately just gone. I had a Crate Rye and Loz had a Burning Sky beer, both were ok. The layout follows the current trend of stripped back industrial look and there were plenty of tables and chairs about. I have head that the pizzas are very good and I must say the people on the table next to us had some just as we were leaving and they did look good. The bottle choice looked pretty good here, and on reflection I think that I should have plumped for a decent bottled beer instead. The staff were fine but didnít exactly ooze friendliness, itís ok but as itís a little out on a limb I cannot imagine that I would rush here again.
