Easy access from Spui tram stops (#2 plus others). Crowd varies widely - locals to tourists. No obnoxious TVs. Lower level seating, including glass-enclosed terrance, and raised level bar/lounge. Very narrow and gets crowded easily. Typical Amsterdam "two-finger head" pours. Moderate prices. Panini-style sandwiches with catsup. Lunch menu and dinner menu: chicken, beef and vegies. Definitely worth a stop.

beer selection is fare, nothing special. The big advantage here is it serves food while in most bars you can get only chips or cheese.

Visited here 29th September 2011 on the most wonderfully warm day of what has been a wonderfully warm week. I sat outside so my impressions of the this place can only really be judged by the service I received, beer and general ambience outside the cafe, Loz ventured inside and whilst fine I think it was just quite busy. On a busy road junction which makes sitting outside and people watching quite good fun actually. Service was only ok, one of the youngish girls serving tried to take an unfinished beer of mine away and I had to ask her to come back with it. Beer from the brewery was a mixed bag, my De Manke Monnik was merely just ok, Loz’s Blonde Ros was better. In short its fine enough but there are a whole host of much better places to be found in this great city.

A lot cured furnishing and pleasant external place with a beautiful sight on Singel and the channels. Discreet chosen of draught beers and good choice of bottled beers. Wide and cured menu (even if not in English). Kindly and although express staff even if I’d found much people enough.

Cafe in a busy intersection. Small selection of mainly Belgian and Dutch bottles with a couple of taps and a couple of rare beers made for the cafe.

Great little place right on a busy intersection. Sit outside or inside by a window and watch the cyclists and trams go by while sipping on a Belgian Tripel or quaffing a Grolsch!

Long narrow "brown" cafe with split level drinking areas and a conservatory. The bar is situated on the upper mezzanine. Woodpanelling throughout, along with bare floorboards and subdued tungsten lighting and neon signs. Some exposed interior brickwork.Eleven beers are available on tap with up to four of these brewed by Amsterdam’s BEKEERDE SUSTER brewpub. Forty bottles are offered with around half of these from Belgium; the remainder are from the Netherlands, Germany, US, France and the UK. Staff friendly and have a smile for enveryone; fully conversant in English when needed. Quite a varied food menu is offered - I recommend the fish stew. Background music at moderate tone, other features: beer signs on walls. Do visit!

Nice place for a waterhole, ideal place for tram spotters as well. Good selection of beers both on tap and bottled. Efficient service from waiter as well.
