| altonbrownd (146), Brussels, Belgium | | May 7, 2012 Very happy to see a new brewpub in Amsterdam. Interior and decor are very smart, as mentioned by others. Staffing friendly. But the three beers were subpar in my opinion but perhaps this will improve over time. It would also be great if they have more than than 3 beers to choose from. Let’s hope it has time to find its own way. When I went it was big and empty but trust it fills up later in the day. Great new addition, nonetheless. | | deanso (103), the Hague, Netherlands | | April 24, 2012 The Nero wasn’t available. The other 2 beers were ok. It needs more beer chouce, even some bottles for 2hen draft beer isn’t there. More food choice would be nice too. | | erickok (36), Leiden, Netherlands | | January 18, 2012 Huge (for Dutch standards) place that’s just become quite popular it seemed. Cosy tables, a bar and even tables with personal tap. Unfortunately they also adopted the classic Dutch habbit of offering free shelled peanuts, while you are supposed to discard the shells on table and floor. Tasty, but very messy. Table tap didn’t work great and the beers (Alfa unfiltered and their own Rosso) were just okay. Some extra tap beers too. All tables were reserved for dinner already so didn’t get to try the food. Staff was quite friendly but was busy and not very knowledgeable. Bit expensive for what you get. | | MrHangover (22), Den Haag, Netherlands | | January 15, 2012 Wow... this "wow" can go two ways, either positve or negative. I must say it goes both ways. The negative wow is the immense load of crap on the floor, crowdy atmosphere and table drafts that aren’t working properly. All we got is foam and I know my way around drafts.
The positive wow is the setup. Nice circles of couches with a tabledraft system in the middle. You can pour your own drinks while the meter runs. It has an open kitchen where you can see the legendary chicken being prepared. Too bad we didn’t get to try them because the place was full. I hope they improve the negative "wow" and further develop the positives. This can turn out great.. | | caesar (181), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands | | December 19, 2011 Visited on sunday afternoon. Website mentioned open at 1300, but I guess it only opened from 1500. Quite large interior for Dutch standards. Slight dark. Nice seats, there’s plenty, but it aint stuffed with chairs like some other beers. Enough space. Amber and porter were available, which are ok. I don’t think they aim for beergeeks, but try to get larger groups in with people that are enthusiastic for beer at all levels. Had some small antipasti platter, which was nice. Pricing is very reasonable imo. Staff was friendly, but this will most likely be a bar that changes its waiters frequently, so dont expect a lot on that side. | | Borresteijn (97), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | November 16, 2011 Large new brewpub in the middle of Amsterdam with a small menu as well. Very spaceous, quite modern interior, sturdy tables and chairs, comfortable seats as well. 2 bars where you can order your drinks, and a couple of tables where you can pour your own beers from tap. I must say it looks really great. Food is good, portions are decent to big, although the prices are on the high side (7.50 euro’s for starters and dessert, 13.50 for a small grilled chicken). They brew 2 beers themselves of which 1 was available and 1 at Alfa, all are no more than average at best, for now. If the beers improve and this place is more known to the public it will be a hit imo. | | troubles (91), Tel Aviv, Israel | | October 26, 2011 New brewpub in walking distance from dam sqare. I visited on Sunday night, I was the only one there. Place is very big and very nice decorated - from the tables to the walls and bars, very nice. There are few draft tables, were you pour your own beer. I tried the Rosso, dark amber ale that was nice but nothing more than that and the Nero, a bad porter I didn’t like at all. Food and Service were good. If beers will improve this would be a nice bar. | johnk (3), , Netherlands does not count - explanation | | October 12, 2011 New brewpub in the centre of Amsterdam. So far just two beers, an amber and a porter; and a pils brewed for them by Alfa.
Hard to rate the beer or ambiance so far. They’re not finished perfecting these brews, before they move onto try others. It’s also a big place, and tailored for a younger crowd at a guess. Food includes house baked bread, and a proper barbecue. Probably louder music later. |
