| Arve_Christian (68), Oslo, Norway | | March 9, 2012 Very good bottle selection.
Especially from eastern Europe countries like Belarus & Ukraine.
And a lot of Polish beer ( not allways of high quality)
But this is a very nice place | | Schroppfy (13), Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio | | September 19, 2011 OK, well this is conveniently located and they really try, with a large menu with lots of German, Polish and Czech beers. However, at least two the draft selections and one of the bottled selections I wanted was out when I was there on a weekend night, early evening. Otherwise, kind of a cool place, mostly but not completely male biker wannabe vibe. Dark, lit in a funky way. First time I had Lvivskie porter was here and that was what I settled on, plus a Schenkerla. | mrmarrow (5), Toruń, Poland does not count - explanation | | August 28, 2011 One of most known beer-travellers pubs in northern Poland. They have opened a second one in Sopot (I’ll try to add it later) | | beermagnet (15), Quebec | | November 16, 2010 good place to try Polish beer. the staff are friendly and helpfull. decorated with beer posters, beer cap, and coaster. nice little bar, youth hostel just on top! | | visionthing (114), Oslo, Norway | | May 23, 2010 Located just a (short) walk from the old town i Gdansk. It’s easy to walk past it if you don’t know about it. It’s also located in almost a "dead-end" of the street.
Degustatornia Dom Piwa has a large selection of beer mostly from Eastern Europe (Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Lithuania and Ukraine), Belgium, Germany and Great Britain. Menues for both tap and bottles are available at the web page. To bring a print-out might not be a bad idea.
The opening hours are written on the web page, but we forgot to check them. They open at 15:00 so we were a bit early one of the days we went there. It also closes somewhat early 22:00, but it’s open until 24:00 on Friday and Saturday.
The bar is on street level, but there is also a basement with tables. I got a feeling that this was a very popular place among students. I think most people there in the evenings were maybe in the early twenties. It’s not a fancy place, but I liked it very much. I have to say I didn’t pay so much attention to the surroundings as I was mainly occupied with trying lots of new beers. We went there all three evenings we spent in Gdansk, and got to try lots of beer (we would usually split a bottle or glass fourways).
The glassware was not so impressive, most of the time we only got standard pint glasses independent of what kind of beer we bought. |
