| troubles (91), Tel Aviv, Israel | | May 20, 2012 Good selection of real craft beers, away from the touristic ripoff downstairs. | | Arve_Christian (68), Oslo, Norway | | April 19, 2012 Very nice place! More quiet then downstairs in Delirium
Cerveses americanes i d’altres països, no només belgues. Aquí s’hi pot fer sessió! | | YULbier (209), Brno, Czech Republic | | April 6, 2012 Glad I made it to the top... of the building that is. This "loft" is a lot better than the other rooms of the Delirium complex. No loud music, no queues and still an amazing selection. Mosty american beers, but also a lot of danish and belgian brews too. Because of those huge round tables, you will without a doubt make some new friends there. I don’t know how much time it will remain less known, but visit it while it is still enjoyable. | | Hogfather (10), Thessaloniki, Greece | | February 27, 2012 Large selection of hard to find american beers. Decoration differs from the rest of delirium, but still it is good! Unfortunately, I had the chance to visit it only once. | | Scopey (150), Croydon, England | | February 7, 2012 This is the upstairs bar of the Delirium cafe complex. It differs in both ambience and beer selection. In general it is a more laid back affair, but as Leighton indicates - even at the best of times, it’s hard to find a spare seat. The beer selection is dedicated to what some refer to as the modern craft beer scene. The main areas of focus are the US, Denmark, Netherlands and some modern Belgian (e.g. De Struise). The draft selection is about 10 taps and included breweries such as De Molen, Evil Twin and Flying Dog. The bottle selection is very impressive (200+) and includes lots of hard to come by American beers, such as Lost Abbey, Drakes, Clown Shoes etc. The best place to drink imported beer in Brussels hands-down. | | Leighton (227), London, England | | February 6, 2012 To echo previous comments, this upstairs section of Delirium is a bit more sedate than its downstairs counterpart, with lots of seating, a decent draft list and a large selection of bottles. This is Delirium, though, so even if this section ’more sedate’ it is still pretty raucous and, on a busy evening, finding a seat can be challenging. By around 2am the place will clear out a bit, so from then until 4am you should be able to really relax. (And before 8pm or so it isn’t too busy, either.) The value is pretty good for most of the beers, and there really are some rarities in the fridge. I’d say this is one of (if not the best) place in Belgium to find a range of beers that includes non-Belgian options. The evening crowd is quite young and lively (I thiink everyong I saw was under 30) so for a quiet experience get there early. Certainly worth a visit. | | armando629 (71), Budapest, Hungary | | January 17, 2012 Another part of Delirium Cafe but not so crowded. Little bit overpriced but you can find rarities in the refrigerator. Nice one, it was hard to left this pleace. | | Travlr (638), Washington, Washington DC | | January 6, 2012 Definitely more mellow than its downstairs counterpart. Large tap selection, and one of the few places in all of Belgium where you can get samplers. On the other end of the scale, you can also get a 3 liter glass of beer. yes, someone ordered one while I was there. Staff is friendly and efficient. | | Mathieu87 (59), Ganshoren, Belgium | | January 4, 2012 [ Updated January 30, 2012 ] Service depends a bit on the bartender. But all of them are friendly, and show a good notion of beer knowledge.
Selection is quite nice, always some new foreign beers on tap.
It’s a lot more quiet in there then the downstairs delirium cafe.
Prices are high (9,9 euro for a Hel en Verdoemnis), but when you drink on tap, it’s ok.
Beer geeks should definitly go over there and have a look ;) |
