On a bit of an out-of-the-way corner in a non-descript building with a side entrance. 1/2 bar area and 1/2 restaurant. The bar is long and zig-zagging with about 20 seats and 15 taps; a reasonable looking bottle list. The food area open to the side of the bar area. A mix of some personality, some "corner bar" and some trying-to-be-a-restaurant. Nice mix of styles in the taps and the chili was good.

Fantastic little bar, especially during GTMW. Friendly people, good food, good service, my only complaint is it’s a bit outta the way. Enjoyed the Toppling Goliath party that was going on Friday night and met Bob & Clark both great people who shared some Assassin (fantastic beer)

Food and a decent tap list is always a nice combination but this place has been over-crowded on both of my visits and I’ve hit the road for less crowded places both times. On my last stop the tap list seemed a little spendy too.

Have been here a few times. Pretty plain bar, but always have a number of unique regional taps, special releases. Release events are usually pretty nice too.

Dexter’s is an average neighborhood bar on the Eastside of Madison. I agree with Nup that they really shine on the taps, which are rotated quite frequently. The menu has recently been updated and is a step above the normal pub/bar grub, with some eclectic daily specials. The hot pretzel with a choice of several mustards or cheese goes great with beer. This place seems a bit pricey.
