| solidfunk (39), Ontario | | May 18, 2012 Awesome to finally be here at Canada’s source of brew life. 18 different brews on tap when I was here, with one cask. Everything marked up on the chalk board. Samples are 2.25 to rack up the ratings and most were respectably decent and the ones that were average rocked their style at least. Server was a brainless douche but who cares - Quebec ain’t North America in that sense and they’re better for it. Good vibe and patio. | | BeardBeerGuy (12), stoughton, Massachusetts | | May 16, 2012 This is in the French side of Montreal. About 3 miles from St Catherine’s street. We walked, taking us about 30 minutes. This place definitely lives up to the hype and ratings. We had 17 offerings on draft. With pours in 6/12/20/60 ounce pours. They also had a cask offering. It was an ipa that was fantastic. The best cask expeirence I have had(I have had quite a bit, fyi)This place is a must. Simply amazing. o’ and the food, Well it is as good as the beer. I am truly impressed by these guys and am thrilled to have a go to place in Montreal.
| | kevinsenn (31), Waterloo, Ontario | | April 23, 2012 Been here a few times. It’s always very crowded, so ordering and/or finding a place to stand and drink your beer can be difficult. But there’s a reason it’s this crowded - this is Canada’s best brewery. Always a good selection of brews on tap, many of which are not available in bottles. There doesn’t seem to be a single style of beer that these guys don’t excel at. Always a place I look forward to visiting when I’m in Montreal. | | Lukaduke (15), Portland, Maine | | April 22, 2012 What a great place to stop for a couple hours during a long day of walking Montreal and exploring with my wife. Right around the block from the famous Faimount Bagel shop this brewpub is tucked into a corner. We rolled in shortly after it opened at 3 to find only a couple tables occupied. We grabbed a little coppertop table over by the window and got greeted by a friendly waitress who was on the ball and happy to cater to my fast consumption and questions about certain selections on the chalkboard menu of 17 house beers. She spoke french and a bit of english but we butchered our way through the session and by the time we left the place was filling up quickly... I will say the tables a jammed in there when that place gets full Im sure its packed! | | simontheeditor (11), Richmond, England | | April 9, 2012 Arguably the best brewpub in Canada, possibly North America, with a top notch selection of beers. The smoked porter was perhaps the best smoked beer outside Bamberg I have ever had. The IPA was stunning. There is a limited food menu, but most patrons had nachos. But you definitely don’t visit for the food. Only real gripe: over- loud background music. | | bmerz (61), New York | | March 13, 2012 An absolute must stop in Montreal, as often and for as long as possible...there’s a lot of great beer to drink right from the source, on draft so get an early start. It can be hard to get a table and hard to get service at one but the bar is easy. If you forget expect the service to be typically European you’ll be pleased. It’s an inviting scene in this wood, lodge type room filled with a slice of Plateau life. The pizza is not a highlight but it does the job. | | lefossoyeur (10), Montreal, Quebec | | March 8, 2012 Almost always very crowded and very noisy. Beer selection is simply the best in town for variety of style, brewpub speaking. Staff is generally cool, but sometimes a bit slow, but I won’t put this on them as the place is just badly designed and must be hell to work in. Food is good with recently added nice pizzas. Nothing extraordinary, but you can restore your stoomach for a few bucks. The big highlight of the place is simply the beer. Ambiance is so-so in my opinion, mostly due to the constant buzz of sounds packing the space. But highly recommanded for the beers... | robe (1), , Italy does not count - explanation | | February 19, 2012 I discover this brew pub just before living Monteal..well, quality of beers are exceptional, fantasy of brewer never ends, just great. I feel welcome and i have to thanks owner and the waitress who served me. A bientot, ciao!
Roberto | | OliverG (20), Montreal, Quebec | | February 10, 2012 Belle petite place chaleureuse. |
