| GT2 (196), Washington DC | | May 8, 2012 Essentially a sit-down, overpriced version of the pizza place that was in this location before. Pizza was decent- not as good as Pizzeria Paradiso. Tap list was fairly large. About 20+. Seems to have an affinity for Schlafly beers; about 8 of them on the tap list. Other stuff were amber lagers and pretty much the craft version of "pizza" beers. Anchor Steam, SNPA, and a handful of Irish nitro type stouts. The tap list should be updated online so check it out before you walk over here from Chinatown metro station. | | jcos (25), Maryland | | February 15, 2012 Whether people like deep dish pizza or not, this place also offers thin crust too. The place itself is nice, I don’t know if I would go to a night here, but for a food place it has a pretty solid draft list.
The place itself is really cool looking. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | November 25, 2011 This place has a much better tap selection than Iron Horse, and way better hygiene than RFD. Four different Schlafly choices when I was there, plus a handful of stuff I hadn’t had. Friendly, efficient staff. Thin pizza was mediocre, but the deep dish looked good, and properly done (cheese on the botom). My top choice if you have to brave the tourist and touter crowd in Chinatown. Downside: it’s pricey, even for DC. | | illinismitty (275), Nashville, Tennessee | | November 17, 2011 [ Updated November 19, 2011 ] I was walking down F street and saw the taps through the window. I decided to take a dinner break and stop in. Very nice selection, 24 taps of ALL craft beer- Bells, Schlafly, Founders, Smuttnose, etc. Rotating taps and seasonals as well. Semi- trendy vibe and ambiance. I ordered the thin crust pizza, and it was pretty tasty (great crust if you like it crispy). Bartender was friendly and attentive. Now on to my criticism. My glasses were not totally clean, which is not good for a beer forward restaurant. There should be no carbonation bubbles clinging to the side of the glass, and there were on both my pints. Second, it’s a bit pricey- but I guess this is the norm for DC. But since I am from out of town, I am gauging this against the rest of the country, and I do a lot of beer traveling. I had two pints during happy hour, and a small 12" pizza. Total? $31.50.Ouch! Good thing I was able to put that on an expense report. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and I would definitely revisit if I am in the area. And if you are a ticker doing a beer crawl, Gordon Biersch is right around the corner, and Capital City Brewery is a few blocks away. |
