64 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20
The bottles are tucked in the back of this place. No real "service" per se since everyone is working in the front. Decent selection though.

For a PA bottle shop, itís not bad. The place has two entrances: one that looks like a cozy pub, the other that looks like a diner. The bottle shop is in the back with a walk in fridge. Prices are kind of high til you realize they discount a dollar if you buy your own pick six. Selection is strong on PA and domestic craft, less so on Belgian or other Europeanís. (itís about as strong as you can get without stocking anything imported by Shelton Brothers.) so from a local perspective this selection is quite good, but I donít think of it as a destination place.

One of the first and few places in the Burgh to mix and match awesome selection of beers. Always crowded. Good dogs.

Itís a greasy spoon type of joint where you can get any kind of dog your in the mood for. Very family friendly, totally causal environment, oh yeah and I think they had about 400 bottles to choose from. When I was there you could even find Gratitude (at a fair premium) so I would say if your in their neck of the nape its worth a pop in!

The food is good for what there is, their french fries are really the highlight of the food menu. The selection in the sixpack shop is pretty good, but expensive. I really feel that this place was better when it was more of a lunch counter with stools and a wall of coolers for the beer. Now its a sit down restaurant with a walk in cooler with a small amount of choices and a separate room with everything else at room temp. both of which you have to walk through the restaurant to get to.Not as convenient, fun, or well priced as it used to be.

The beer cave is awesome. Great selection, and reasonable prices all around. Friend ordered some food which I sampled and enjoyed as well. Would definitely come back.

Reading the reviews, I had not known what to expect. This place has to be seen to be belived. The kind of concept bar I expect to see in Brooklyn, but youíre not in brooklyn. The crowd consists of suburban Pittsburgh folks: not the hipster type, quite the opposite actually. I donít know that Iíd spend an evening here, maybe with a bunch of friends, but not alone. Basically, there are 3 rooms. You enter into a bar area, pretty typical. Adjacent is the restaurant side and when I say restaurant, I really mean a hot dog joint. Iím almost sad I have not tried one yet I generally hate hot dogs. On top of the hot dog bar thrones a cheap white board on which some 20 or so beers are offered on draught. Pretty good selection actually. Expect the likes of Stone, Troegs, Victory and the likes on tap. And in the back of the bar area is the beer cave where you can pick up bottles to go. I doubt there are 800 of them, but it remains the largest (though not the best) selection of singles Iíve seen in PA (I have a lot more to see). Youíll find stuff from California, Michigan, Ohio, PA. Solid selection, though not packed with rarities. Prices remain a bit expensive, but I guess thatís the PA way, at least you remove 1$ of the singles prices for takeout bottles. Even if I was not overly impressed, I can still imagine that this is the best selection within a few hours of driving.

Nice place, typical bar feel, not to dirty or to clean though, which I like. Nice selection; carry-out bottle which I appreciate. Pricing is average. I didnt eat or deal much with the bartenders, but the selection is excellent. I would recommend checking this place out.

Ambiance is two fold, on one side is a cozy bars with the taps, and the other is a small family restaurant. Serivice is good but nothing to write home about. Staff could be a bit more knowledgable. Selections is great in the sense that they might have things that other Pittsburgh places wonít especially belgian bottles, but unfortunately, there shelfs are half empty sometimes. Food is decent quality for very reasonalbe prices. Value is average for the beer, great for the food. Overall a good place to eat and have a few beers, but a bit pricey to take bottles out.

Iíve been there twice and was never disappointed with their selection and pricing. They have over 800 beer brands/styles for sale and can be purchased singly or in a 6 pack as well as bombers of some types. The food is decent but not a great selection. I try to get to Dís whenever Iím in Da Burg.
