A fun spot with a great menu and a full selection of drafts and growlers to go. The staff is friendly and informative. They get some great oysters ready to be shucked at the bar!

Im sorry, duggan seems like a respectable man, but I did not enjoy my experience here, the bar had a feel that it wasn’t complete, the design just said work in progress, my friend got the ontario ale and I had the ger pils and they were hardly noticeable different beers. Wasn’t a huge fan of the IPA before I went here and none of the other ones were anything special. I maybe go here again but they got a lot of work to do before I would consider becoming a frequent customer.

it is an okay place. the beers are good not great. the ambiance is really the attraction here as is the food. i think the pizza comes from a wood fired oven but i could be wrong.

Great place. Very good selection, with interesting seasonals. Food was pretty good. Different spaces, with the right ambiance in each; quiet for dinner, and busier for the bar. The staff was friendly.

A great addition to the TO beer scene, at Denison’s former location. The first floor is nice and ample, with early 20s mixed with modern. Food was excellent, with the pulled pork sandwich gorged with its own juice, and a side of cesar salad. Beers are solid, 4 samples for 6$. Visited August 6 2010.

Came here with my girlfriend for dinner and drinks on 08/20/10. Spacious, attractive interior is very clean and simple, bordering on spartan. There’s two large bars on each side of the brewpub, a display of six packs by the front door, and probably 40 or so tables in the restaurant and pub areas. We had a nice view of Victoria Street at our comfortable, candle-lit two seater. Our waitress was slow and uncaring, she seemed to have given up on us the moment she introduced herself. She also appeared to be getting cut behind the bar even though Mr. Duggan was sitting in the room. The night ended with me going to the bar to take care of our bill, which sums up the quality of the service. Beer selection is 8 taps with a fairly diverse mix of European, Asian, and North American styles. I went with the #5 Rice Lager and #17 Czech Pils, both were exceptional. My girl really enjoyed her sauvignon blanc. They have about 10 wines (4 reds, 4 whites, 2 rosés), and mix drinks are also available, so non-beer drinkers can easily find something to pair with their meal. The food is excellent. I had the grilled lemon chicken breast with arugula salad while the lady ordered some lager-battered fish and chips. The menu is mostly straightforward meat and pizza dishes but there’s a few vegetarian and seafood options as well. Overall we were pleased with the food and drinks and managed to have a fun, relaxing evening despite the substandard service. If we came here again I would specifically ask for a different waitress than the one we were alloted. Certainly worth a visit and for those who are only interested in the beer you will not be disappointed with Duggan’s top-notch offerings.

Great selection of Duggan’s beer and so-so food. The place is too clean and "ikeaish" for me. I enjoy the brews but not the place. Last time I was there I ordered a beer pie and bit into a WHOLE hot pepper. My mouth was burning and I couldn’t really enjoy any more beer. There comp’ed my entire meal and were very aplogetic. I would go back, but wouldn’t go for the food.

Bright shiny space in a newly renovated brewery building. The beer in here is lager-tilted and the lagers are top-notch. Fresh and hoppy with a nice crisp bracing malt character. Some interesting ideas like the Asian pilsner which is spiked with ginger. The ales are a bit less impressive, with a tendency toward underattenuation. I had a few oysters here which were shucked in a pretty amateurish way (lots of shell flakes in 3/6 of them) although the food does look pretty good. I ended up chatting extensively with the bar manager though who knows a lot about the beer and the history of the space. A nice addition to the Toronto beer scene.

modern decor, good sized but expensive menu ($10-15 appetizers and 17-30 main courses), 7-8 own beers on tap, overall pleasant

Still fairly new spot pretty close to the heart of downtown. Still has a clean, new feel to it. The beers range from above average to very good and there is always a decent assortment to choose from and some interesting styles. Food is pretty good especially the pizza, although when I was in on June 19, 2010 they said they were changing a number of items on the menu (though not the pizza!). Not cheap but solid value when one considers the number of bars in the area charging more for much worse beer. Worth a visit.
