| drpimento (120), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | February 7, 2012 I went on a Tuesday evening, nice weather. Sat outside on the patio for one, fairly busy, but it got a little chilly and the full ashtray bugged me, so I went in. They have wi fi, but it doesn’’t work with iphone. Bartenders were pleasant, but only did the minimum. I ordered some potato wedges from snack menu as it was after 9, they were good, but no fork, messy, no salt n pepper or napkin. Nice interior with view of some brewing tanks behind bar thru windows. Nice copper fireplace. Beers are nothing special except the stout, which was very good. Easy to find, prices ok. | | TimE (189), Tokyo, Japan | | October 11, 2011 This place is ok, but staff were not hugely impressive and overall the place feels a bit boxy. Worth stopping by for ticks and because there isn’t much else in Queenstown. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | October 14, 2009 Dux De Lux is a good brewpub right in the heart of Queenstown. The atmosphere is very warm but active, with a large, young crowd every night in the two low-lit rooms with big fireplaces, a stage, a couple pool tables, and a big patio. We only came here late both times and didn’t try any of the food, but it appeared they had a few late-night offerings available. The 8 taps consisted of 7 house brews and a guest spot held by Three Boys during our visit. We went on a Thursday night, when they do indie rock request night, and on a Saturday, when they had a live band, and both were very crowded. The DDL beers are just okay, but the place is still worth a visit for beer drinkers in Queenstown. | | DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | May 23, 2009 This place has changed a great deal since I was here nearly 4 years ago. It used to be an upscale restaurant that combined Queenstown ’mountain comfort’ (i.e. big stone fireplace) with a very sleek modern feel. The food was bordering on cuisine. Fast forward to the present and it could not look any different! It is a small cozy pub now, with high-seated tables, a longey sofa-filled area, and a big pool table. Menu is standard pub fare. Only Dux de Lux brews are available. Not a bad pub to cozy into, but it is no longer a food destination. | | nate2g (320), Marlborough, New Zealand | | April 3, 2009 A popular pub housed in a nice building serving the Dux range of beers, with tasting trays available. The beers are OK though nothing really setting them apart from what you would expect to find in a brewpub. The service was great and the place was constantly busy, could easily spend an afternoon here. This will more thank likely be your first stop for a beer in Queenstown. | | TheGrandMaster (102), Auckland, New Zealand | | July 30, 2008 Nice building, would love to have it myself. Pretty quiet when I was there. A good range of beers, though made to appeal to the more general public. A decent range though, and the food was good. Pricey for a half pint though. | | NoiZe (71), Amersfoort, Netherlands | | January 16, 2008 The ’other’ Dux de Lux in New Zealand. Very nice atmosphere in the brew pub. Nice tasting platter to taste all the brews. Good food too. |
