SoberCajun (1), Washington, Washington DC does not count - explanation | | October 2, 2011 D’Vines is becoming more of a destination with the recent introduction of growlers and 4-5 taps that rotate frequently. They are even offering aged beer and there seems to be a real emphasis on catering to the NW DC beer geek crowd. I am sometimes disappointed by the selection, mostly because some of my favorite beers seem to come and go, but this is made up for by the fact that there is always something new whenever I stop by. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | July 14, 2011 The sister store to DeVinos on 18 St and U St. D’Vines is supposed the "master" store that has more specialties, but I rarely find anything worth buying any more at both D’Vines and DeVinos. The DeVinos staff in the past has pulled special beers for me from the back. D’Vines’ staff looks at me with wide-eyed stares if I ask about any semi-obscure beer. Selection here is mediocre and rarely do I find anything worth getting. Markup at this store is quite extensive. Really, the only reason to go here is for cheap good wine. For beer, I’m 90% positive you will leave disappointed. | | radagast83 (80), Fairfax, Virginia | | April 16, 2011 I stumbled into this one after a trip to Meridian Pint. The place is small, but stocked. Nice selection of brews, with a few rare ones if you look close enough. | | gsmitty80 (153), Washington DC | | January 21, 2010 Good beer store outside of Columbia Heights Metro Stop across from Target. They have 4 cases of 6 pack beers and 2 cases of bigger bottles and select 22 oz beers. About the same selection as 18th street location. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | November 28, 2008 [ Updated January 23, 2010 ] Small but well-chosen selection of U.S. and international craft beers, occasional surprises. List is growing slowly but steadily. Just outside the Columbia Heights metro station. |
