W/jfb and SinH4. Now this is pretty unique - a hotel/restaurant directly on the Regnitz river. And I mean, directly. When the directions to the toilets are "left, *across the river*, down", you know what it's like. Modern place with excellent patios. Pro service. Only two of the four beers they claimed (Eckerts Vollbier, Ganställer Kelleripls, Held-Bräu Dunkel and a sommerbier) were available - the first two, both quite nice and in good shape. The food selection seemed interesting too, probably worth going for lunch... Aaand... no wi-fi that I recall. Well worth visiting all in all though, despite the limited selection!

Beautiful views. Slightly upmarket, good to great beers on tap. Friendly service. Winner.

Visited in August 2019 on a 5-day Bamberg and surroundings trip with Caesar. Very nice outside terrace at the "Obere muelbrucke". Found a couple of new ticks, fine service, quite quick, good flammkuchen. Worth a visit, but it does take a bit of a walk.

Visited July 2019 with my parents. Placed in city center easy to find. Placed around the river, great views, especially when sitting outside, on a small bridge terrasse. Beers served with a smile and in good condition.. Even though it can seem a bit upper class / touristed still really worth a visit.. relaxing and nice beers - what's not to like..

One of the best view to enjoy a beer in Bamberg. Small, but good selection (Gänstaller Zwickel-pils on tap is a rarity in Germany, indeed).Unfortunately the housebrew was not in perfect condition, but it was worth coming here anyway. Perfect if you are travelling with your partner who does not drink beer.

Used to be a place to drink amazing Gänstaller beer, but I've heard it's been bad lately, and now I have visited and been thoroughly disappointed. The beer was in terrible condition

Fancy hotel restaurant just inches above the river. Serving bar in the first room where you can wait and have a drink if tables are full. SinH4, CS and I went straight to the dining area where all tables have good views of the water. Food is meticulously prepared, portions are adequate though not as large as you get at Heller or Spezial for instance. Decent beer selection including a house zwickl. Nice place.

Modern, upmarket place next to Klosterbräu with a beautifully sparse, sauna-esque interior. The view onto the river is absolutely stunning, almost like being on a ferry with the everpresent sound of rushing water in the background. The waitress was very friendly and the choice of draught beers, including a house-beer and the otherwise elusive Gänstaller Zwickelpils is also solid. Didn't try any food. Pretty much had the place to ourselves on a Tuesday November afternoon.

Visited 4.10.17. Sat on the bar as they were preparing for the evening service. Well-lit and modern looking with nice spirits display as well as a bunch of interesting taps. The location is not to be missed.
