| stoutpark (13), , Italy | | May 22, 2012 A really good experience, in addition to the restaurant and the terrace outside to eat and drink excellent craft and fresh beer, there is also a beershop with a fine selection of bottles. The food is great. I had the chance to they the Lost Abbey’s Framboise de Amorosa. | | YULbier (209), Brno, Czech Republic | | May 18, 2012 Perfect in so much ways. Just whish they could have a bigger selection on tap but the list of bottles makes up for that . Absolutely worths the detour. | jvdijk99 (8), , Netherlands does not count - explanation | | May 10, 2012 I had kunch there twice and the food was pretty good. Obviously they had some of their excellent beers on tap. The little shop that is connected to the restaurant has An wide selection of rare European craft beers. But these guys know they are top of the bill and their prices reflect that. | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | March 28, 2012 Stopped in here with Seb (sebletitje or you may know him as SeaBass) right when they opened on a Saturday. Great looking place from the outside with a water-way behind it and a hand full of parking spots opposite the front door. The inner space is all wood everywhere with big beams and a nice wood floor. They had like 6 taps on and each were new to me. The staff seemed disorganized maybe due to being very close to opening. When you have their attention they’re professional and friendly. Wow, the bottle shop is great albeit really small and cramped. I dropped a Euro C-Note to max out my luggage weight for the return trip home. I’ll need two suitcases next time. I look forward to coming back here in a few weeks and hopefully return trips in the future. | | crosamich (10), Naples, Florida | | March 13, 2012 From April 2011 review
Peter Paul & Jose were fantastic hosts. Food was tasty and very reasonable. We didn’t have a big look around but the drive in made Bodegraven look like a clean and beautiful town. We were debating stopping here on our way from Amsterdam to Belgium for the weekend. So glad we decided to take the time. We planned on lunch, a couple beers and a look in the bottle shop. A couple hours later and I left with a box full of goodies. We were there shortly after opening so were able to chat them up for quite a while. Bottles may be a bit high but they have plenty of unique offerings...sometimes you have to pay to play, right? they are building a new brewery 200 meters down the road so shouldn’t really affect the set up. Going to start with viewing days for the new brewery I believe next week. Although, I hope they leave remnants from the old brewery because people need to see the small set up that they run with. It’s impressive in how small it is. A great way to start a beer-cation! Bring bottles to share with Peter Paul. | | goozen (36), Leiden, Netherlands | | March 9, 2012 Was there last sunday for a tour, for a bachelor party with a theme, wear an hat. Nice cozy environment, good to superior house brews. Nice shop with an amazing selection of beers, notice the bit high prices but they a worth it. Also very good beerfestival in September. | | ultimatepoche (35), Lille, France | | February 28, 2012 Was there for Boreft beer festival, and it was a very pleasant experience. The place itself is very beautifull. As for the beer shop, it was simply amazing, lots and lots of incredible and impossible to find brews there ... they had Narke, Jolly Pumpkins, De Molen of course etc... Prices were very expensive for europe, but considering the service and selection, it was ok anyway. I had a great time there and will be returning someday. | Doodler (2), Denver, Colorado does not count - explanation | | February 13, 2012 Stopped in this past summer. Had a wedding party going on so supposed to be closed, but Peter was quite the host and had the chef whip up some steaks and veggies for us (very tasty) and cracked open a few bottles of Weer & Wind and H&V Wild Turkey. Nice bottle shop packed with tasty euro treats and US brews. Prices are decent. A must visit. | Idiosynkrasie (3), Bielefeld, Germany does not count - explanation | | January 29, 2012 Had to make a visit after missing 3rd Borefts Festival due to schedule difficulties. Wow! Maybe not beer drinker’s paradise on its own, but one location in paradise for sure. Wonderful rustic atmosphere, friendly staff, superb beer as is well-known. Excellent high quality beer shop. De Molen beers are presented in a well-deserved self-confident way scratching on boast. Maybe a bit expensive, but you’re exempt from laboriously assembling all that superb stuff from different places. Can’t rate food for a self-evident reason: I didn’t try. | | gEUS (17), Linden, Belgium | | January 22, 2012 Selection on tap and bottles is focused on De Molen beers, which is just fine. Selection in the shop is awesome. Prices in the shop are high though. They served different rarities on tap on different occasions (mooi & machtig was the bomb!) as well as on bottle (weer & wind). Easy going service which is just fine as going over there always feel like holidays, even if it only for one afternoon. |
