This place is nice with good beer selection and good food. It is pricy, but that is to be expected for the quality, location, and selection. When I was there the place was almost empty, but I was seated in a poor spot. Also, it took quite a while to be waited on. As far as the ambiance goes there it is almost void. It may just be due to the fact that I’m used to small, squat, small-town bars, but if felt like the place had no real character. Overall it isn’t a bad place to go for a bite and some brews, but it wouldn’t be my goto place to hang out.

Came in on a late Thursday night after an exhausting day of beer drinking and basketball watching. Neat old theatre building, with a cool interior with wood and tiles accented by blue lighting. There was only one bartender working and only a few people at the bar. The beers are just okay. He talked us out of the sampler, which only gives you three of the beers on tap. Doesn’t make for much sampling, and the price is too high. Looked like only 9 of the 12 taps were filled, which was odd. Prices were too high for drafts, too. We didn’t eat, but the kitchen was probably closed by that point, anyway. Seems like a place with a lot of potential, so I wish the beer was a little better and they worked a little harder on the experience.

cool looking building, a bit plain inside but cozy... the draft list was pretty lacking, 6 regulars on draft nothing special... not worth stopping by

Elevator was a last minute stop. Hanging out at the bar for a drink with some other people I took in the downscale atmosphere which reminds me of a train station in need of renovation. The old time setting was nearly dive bar in character.

Ordering the only beer that sounded interesting (from the MBA list) I discovered that $8.00 does not always guarantee a good experience. Hopefully the normal taps are more reasonably priced. The options did not seem very exciting - your standard IPA, stout, pale ale, and so on. Having been here once I don’t think I would go back unless the pickings were very slim.

Visited mid-afternoon on a Thursday. Really classic looking old school bar, tons of great wood and tile work. The bar itself is made out of carved wood, and original mirror work. Lots of stained glass in the windows, very classic feel. Service was attentive, I only had time for two quick pints so didn’t have much time to chat. They had 11 of their beers on, as well as stocked bar. Happy hour had $2.50 pints, so certainly nothing wrong with that. Beers I had were clean and well made. Nice place to spend some time, centrally located to other beer spots in Columbus.

Marvellous old building. Lovely mosaic tiled floor. Would make a great bar but it is a bit too much of a restaurant, with the hostess stand right in the middle of the front bar area. Loads of people trying to get a table on a Saturday night. So instead of being a great drinking space it felt more like a waiting area. No seats at the bar so we ended up perched at a high top table right next to the waitress till - not ideal. The back room is less atmospheric than the front area. Service was OK but not that attentive or warm. A good number of their own beers on tap (12 I think) - mainly solid, if run of the mill, except for the "MBA" beers, which were very good. Sampler trays available but only include six beers so I had to do two. I’d certainly visit again but would try to avoid a busy Saturday night.

Good beers coupled with a nice location. The tsaff can be somewhat disinterested at times but knowledgeable. Food was great in my opinion!

I finally went in here for a beer. I dont really know what took me so long. I think the prices of the menu scared me away, that and the fact that I can get many of their beers in stores. Inside the place is absolutely beautiful. It is one of the best interior spaces I have ever been in. Its all antique, refurbished woodwork with carved mastheads and deco designs. Tile floors, high ceilings, built in glass cabinets showing shirts, glassware and growlers, stained glass and pale blue lights highlighting things throughout. Utterly impressive inside. We sat down at the very large bar and were immediately offered a menu and beer list. The bartender told us what the extra beers were that werent on the list (a dunkel and eisbock). Service was prompt, but it wasnt too busy. I didnt ask many questions so I dont know exactly how knowledgeable the staff is. They have all of their beers that can be found around town in bottles and on tap as well as two other beers for their two separate beer tours. I got the eisbock and my brother got the dunkel. My suspicion is that the dunkelweisen is the base beer for the eisbock, but I have no confirmation. Prices here are frankly out of control. I have never eaten here but I have seen the menu on their website. My 10oz snifter of their eisbock was $8. That is a little much to pay for a beer with a lot of hype and credit, let alone a local brewpub beer. Overall I really love the atmosphere here. They do have quick limited runs that come and go but I bet it will be a while before I make it back here.

Their seasonals are quite tasty and you must order the filet with the soap stone. You cut your steak and then cook each piece on the soap stone that remains quite hot past the final bite.

Not many other beers than their own but they make many styles. Food is kinda pricey but the atmosphere is great.
