Typical craft beer that was probably great a bunch of years ago, but just hasnít evolved. Staple Belgianís you can get anywhere that are a dime a dozen. Not worth stopping by.

Smelled like crap. After drinking one beer I left smelling like stinky, greasy food. I thought the beer was somewhat overpriced and there was not that much seating. There was an upstairs that I did not visit. If you are into foreign beers I would give it a chance.

Small Belgium beer bar in the centre of Pennsylvania. Very good selection and nice ambience.

Super tight and cozy (read: hole in the wall), though I havenít yet been upstairs, so Iím giving myself an incomplete. Friendly and relaxed, very dark and nearly oozing with history. Bottle list is large and gives a robust trip through Belgium, taps a little more hit or miss but usually offering something more than a little interesting. Helps anchor that block/two area that makes Old City such a magnet for beer.

Another cosy Philly pub that focuses on Belgian ales and their US equivalents. There wasnít much to entice me on the draft options. but thatís more due to wanting to try something new. Many common Belgian beers that also show up across the bottle list. Good service but it was early week and pretty quiet. No doubt Iíll drop by again for another visit.

When I visited: Late September 2014. What I had: Draft pint of Founders Centennial IPA, bottle of Duck-Rabbit Porter and the Duck Framboise for me; pint of Delirium Tremens, glass of sauvignon blanc and the Brugge Chicken Sandwich for my fiancť; Beneluxx Belgian Frietjes to split. What I liked: Laidback and inviting pub atmosphere; bartender was amicable, efficient and had a great sense of humour; expansive draft and bottle list with a focus on Belgian and American offerings; very tasty food; all beers are served in their proper glassware. What I disliked: Was disappointed that there werenít any sours on tap when we visited; Stella and Fruli detract from an otherwise respectable draft lineup; some of the bottles are quite pricey; my porter was just okay. Would I go back? Yes. Despite its flaws Eulogy is still a first-rate beer bar and restaurant, and we enjoyed our overall experience here.

A great small, two-floor Philly pub with a bunch of taps upstairs and downstairs and a respectable bottle list. The food I had was great - some kind of steak and mushroom sandwich. A few great beers on tap as well, some hard-to-find bullfrog and some Belgian stuff especially. Good service, and friendly clients.

An OK stop if youíre in this part of Philly. Itís an extremely cramped, dark space thatís hard to navigate when itís crowded. The list was dominated by pretty common Belgian offerings. US beer geeks who donít travel much would probably be more excited by the list than I was. Still, itís probably a nice change of pace from most other beer spots in the city. Service was good, prices were decent.
