Fire on the Mountain - Interstate

Fantastic wings, great service and pretty solid beer list. We had Hopworks Ace of Spades there. Go for the wings, but the beer list is pretty solid as well.

Went to the North location and was impressed with their beer selection even though I just went for the wings, which were pretty good. I wouldn’t recommend this as a place for beer but if you’re in the mood for wings than you could do a lot worse. Excellent sauces and creative desserts (I got the fried oreos though I really want to try the fried twinkie). Friendly service.

Best wings in town, hands down. Probably the best buffalo style wings in the NW. The Interstate location is definitely cooler (albeit much smaller) than the Burnside location, better service as well & nice to sit at the small bar. Taps usually include 3 - 4 interesting beers and they almost always have Terminal Gravity IPA on, as well as something from Roots & Amnesia.

East Burnside location, tap list is mediocre but usually at least 2 beers I want to drink. The wings are amazing, 12 sauce options, good tots and sweet potato fries. The desserts are interesting fried things (oreos and twinkies are what I’ve had). The Burnside location is larger than the Interstate one. Service walk up and order but staff is always friendly and patient as you taste each sauce up front. Definitely a must go to for wings, and their beers won’t disappoint but also won’t excite.

This is a great little wing joint.Best wings in town,actually.My favorite aspect of it beerwise....is Rainer lager on tap. You heard right.Good old cold Rainer beer in a pitcher priced cheaper than a pint of craft.NOW that is marketing.Perfect brew for cleansing palate between sampling the killer sauces here.

Like hot wings? if yes go, if not don’t go. Nothing on tap you can’t find at other bars in PORTLAND, but if you dig hot wings the beer here is great and the food is f’n outstanding.

7 taps, no bottles and incredible wings. Very small place, seats maybe 30. We wandered in about 12:30 and there were about 3 places to sit, packed. Service is good, but follow up is nonexistant. If you need something, best to ask. Taps on my visit were: Skagit River, SN, Laurelwood, Rainier, and I can’t remember the rest. Go here for the great wings, you wont be disappointed.

Located along the light-rail line in N Portland, just a few block from the Widmer Brothers Brewery, this is the best spot in town for wings. In addition to a number of good sauces (the jerk sauce is phenomenal), they serve good local beer - and I’m not talking Bridgeport and Widmer - these guys seem to be tapped into the local small-guy brewing scene, and feature offerings from Roots Organic Brewing, Amnesia, Fish Tale and others. One of the better restaurants in Portland to not just offer local beer, but interesting local beer. It can get crowded at dinner time, and I’ve had bad service before (been ignored) I think because I didn’t look like the everyday hippie or something, but the food made me forget any of that. The best part about their beer lineup is they offered Rainier - like they decided that even if they had to offer a BMC pale lager, they would make it a local one, or in this case at least a local name, since Rainier is contract brewed by one of the big guys now.
