| b79turner (24), Alabama | | July 5, 2011 This is a nice place to go watch sports, not the best place for beer. They have a decent on tap selection. | TungstenGT (2), Birmingham, Alabama does not count - explanation | | January 30, 2009 I like this place when I just want to go out and have some fun with friends. It is not the best I have ever been, but it is always a nice place. | JustinFromAL (5), Birmingham, Alabama does not count - explanation | | December 22, 2008 Food is mediocre at best. Chain restaurant bar food. The beer selection is good for Alabama, with some decent draft deals on week nights. Probably the strongest aspect of the Fox and Hound is the service. Genuinely friendly people and prompt service. | | CaptBier (20), Birmingham, Alabama | | March 30, 2008 This is one of my favorite places to watch college football games. Waitresses are friendly and prompt (and good looking). The food here is great but a little pricey. The beer selection is decent for Birmingham. They have your usual macrobrews with a sprinkling of micro and specialty drafts. The good reason to go here is the 20-some televisions they have around the bar area and the two pool/private rooms they also offer. | | beckstein (17), | | June 23, 2007 [ Updated May 7, 2008 ] Good selection on tap, but not much in the bottle. Kind of loud and it is a chain. If you like strip malls, this is your kind of place. I have had several things from the menu, but have never been impressed. I get the feeling good food is not really their thing. The staff is very nice. | rbug (1), does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2007 Large, chain sports bar. Pretty run of the mill, nothing that really makes it stand out as an outstanding place to get a beer. Food is less than desirable. Beer selection is decent. Wait staff is usually pretty good. | | NachlamSie (358), Tennessee | | February 18, 2007 This is a decently large sports bar. There are more taps than most places would have in Birmingham and beer is actually reasonably priced. Here was the only establishment of any type that I could find that actually carried beer brewed in AL. I had an all right time here I guess. It’s outstanding for beer given the desolate scene. | | JonnyC22 (10), Huntsville, Alabama | | November 20, 2006 Loud, obnoxious crowd. Went for a Thursday night football game, so it might have been just too crowded. Not a very good beer selection either though. | | Skip (12), Indiana | | May 23, 2006 Loud. Sports bar with a sattelite TV everywhere you look. Tuesday night special: Your choice of any draft just $2.00 which makes you wonder why anyone would order a Miller Lite (but they did). Be advised that current Alabama law prohibits bottled beers with higher than 6% abv. Another reason to stick to the taps. |
