74 In a strip mall. Medium sized wine store with beers at the back, sixers in coolers, and sixers plus singles on shelves, with build your own six possible. Good range of ciders and cysers. Good service. |
74 Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Some quality brews, but definitely not 300 different brews (more like 100). The lady said their stock was way down though. Layout was a little here and there, but you could easily and quickly see everything. Pricing was fairly reasonable. It is worth a look if you are in the area. |
76 A nice, small wine and beer store with decent selection and great prices. Staff is friendly. Beers are well laid out with good selection. |
90 Came here after not coming for a long time, not sure why. Guess Frederick has enough good bottle stores I never thought about it! Glad I came back, great selection and nice atmosphere (very helpful). They do tasting every weekend I think. Only negative I can think of is they seem to be a dollar or two higher on beers. But for the service ,atmosphere and the occasional rarity worth it. |
78 Nice place in Frederick. Decent selection of singles (in terms of quantity of different items); nice choices though for what they stock. Service was excellent and the right touch of available helpfullness. Prices were in line with most places. I will definitely go back and recommend. |
76 Visited in March, on DiarmaidBHK’s recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. The beer is stored in the back on 8 ft tall by 10 ft wide wine rack. Roughly half their stock is Belgium and German with the rest mainly US. The majority of the beer is stored vertically, though there are some duplicate Belgium large bottles stored on their side next to the display bottle which is vertical. The prices were a little high on everything, but the glassware. They do need to watch their stock rotation as they still had some octoberfest stuff in March, which is pushing it. They have some food near the checkout, mainly chocolate and cheese. The salted Caramels were excellent. The clerk didn’t seem to know that much about beer so clearly she isn’t their beer buyer, since they had some quality stuff. |
98 This store has one of the greatest selections around and a true gem in Guy Fritz. Guy gets some really hard to find stuff and always keeps me surprised. Prices here are also really good. |
86 The selection here is good, but not the best. They stock a lot of craft beers, but nothing too "off the beaten path". Their beer guy is really knowledgeable and hepful in finishing off a BYO 6-pack. They thing that sets this place apart is their events. A few weeks ago they had skype with the guys from Stone Brewing. They had a good selection of Stone’s brews to taste and an open forum for asking them questions. Check their website for upcoming events, looking forward to more skype tastings! |
78 Located in a recently opened shopping center across from Wegman’s. Wine is big here but they also take seriously. It’s found in the back coolers as well as in the back right corner. They also have a number of seasonals by the entrance. The selection is full of quality with local and regional craft but also some Mikkeller, Nogne O, Belgian Trappist and a number of seasonals as well. The best part is in addition to having a pick-6 selection, they allow you to take a beer out of any six-pack container. The ambiance is nice and they do a good job of not overlighting the place. They did have some bombers on their side, which is a no-no, but that was only due to a lack of space. I’ll definitely stop by the next time I’m in the area. |
