Excellent community pub, located in a quiet residential area of Formby, near to Freshfield Station. 12 pumps, usually with 4/5 guest beers and a draught cider; the remaining pumps offer beers from the Greene King portfolio, owners of the pub. Guest beers are currently sourced via Titanic Brewery and come from SIBA members. The pub is shortly to close (Late Oct 2011) for refurbishment and will re-open with the emphasis on food with, probably, 2 guest ales and 4 Greene King beers. Another dumbing down of an excellent real ale pub, much loved by regulars and visitors alike!
