| Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 23, 2012 Located downtown. Nice looking area. I parked on the street with ease but there is also a parking deck (free for the first hour they claim) across the street. I’m left with mixed feelings about the establishment itself. The service was good. The prices were good. The food was underseasoned, uninspired and the portions of fish in the tacos were not appropriate. They actually ended up having some quite nice beers, but the first couple I tried were not good, so I started with a bad impression. Overall, I could see being a regular here if I lived in the area, but they could use some improvement. | | Elwood (83), Leesburg, Virginia | | October 23, 2011 This is a nice place in downtown Wilmington. Both the staff and the patrons were very nice. I tried a sampler of beers which ranged from okay to good. We didn’t order any food though. Overall I would definitely go back as it seemed like a cool place to hang out and have a few brews. | | NachlamSie (358), Tennessee | | August 31, 2011 This is a really cookie-cutter and predictable brewpub. That being said, at least I knew what I was getting and they pleasantly delivered, even surprised me with a pretty good Belgian IPA. The food is standard pub grub, but tastes good enough and an excellent value with plenty of plates at $7.99. The beers were mostly boring and average, however the aforementioned Absurdity Belgian IPA and the Milds Davis were enough to break the mold. Service was really good at the bar. | jtd6628 (8), North Carolina does not count - explanation | | July 9, 2011 This brew pub is very much repersentitive of southern brew pubs mediocre food nothing more than fryed food and burger. Beer is nothing more than half way good. | | MikeF (205), Cleveland, Ohio | | February 16, 2011 Classy interior with extensive wood paneling. Nice - old-fashioned bar. The servers are helpful and somewhat knowledgeable, however the beer is average. Nothing terrible, but nothing too impressive. On the other hand, this place makes a nice stop along front street. The food is average to above average pub fare. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | February 13, 2011 Nice enough appearance. Jam packed all day and night on a Saturday. 7 taps, not much else. We tried 3, and were disappointed. Mediocre beers. | | Foxbush (29), Richmond, Virginia | | October 24, 2010 [ Updated January 27, 2012 ] This Brewpub was visited during aSanders family reunion. The Brewpub was packed on a Friday night. The beer was good but not great. We brought back family members for them to enjoy. We have a growler and had it filled on 10/24. The Front street area has other restaurants that bring people to this area. The Cape Fear river is a block away. | | wcampbell (10), Clemson, South Carolina | | June 15, 2009 Not too impressive. Really weak sampler with only five very dull subpar beers. Didn’t get a pint of anything because nothing stood out. Didn’t see any high gravity beers listed or anything out of the ordinary. Not the best menu, certainly nothing unique. Shrimp and grits were pretty good though. Small portions for a brew pub. Good prices. | | Marinesuds (13), Hawaii | | February 22, 2009 Beautiful old historic Wilmington, NC building just down the road from where Gen Longstreet headquartered in the last days of the civil war. The beer could be better. It is good, but the pale ales really didn’t wow me, and weren’t very crisp. Wait staff is very nice, and helpful. | | DrBayern (39), Morehead City, North Carolina | | August 24, 2008 Had lunch here on 089/23/08. Nice surroundings in a restored old building in historic downtown Wilmington. Attractive bar and furnishings in a comfortable atmosphere. Service was quite good with a smiling, polite hostess, and an attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient waiter. I had a couple of beers, the IPA and an hefeweizen, both of which were pretty good. Typical pub fare with some local seafood specialties thrown in, and the meal I had as well as the meals of the others who were with me were well prepared and tasty. They also had a sampler of 5 5oz. beers of your choice for about $5.95 as I recall, quite a good deal. All of the beers are their own, no guest taps, but I think that’s perfectly OK, and their beers are good, based on the two that I had. I would recommend stopping in if your visiting. |
