| fermaspac (10), , Brazil | | May 7, 2012 They have ale on cask! | | solidfunk (39), Ontario | | December 22, 2011 Great place to go in Buenos Aires. I used to go here three years ago when I lived here and it was always full - you don’t have to arrive after 2am to not be the only person there like with many B aires bars and clubs. Just visited again and it was the same. Good decor, pool room in the back. They have a Thai menu now, more argentine microbreweries. Sixtoger is a great IPA. | | garza (73), Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), Venezuela | | March 7, 2011 [ Updated August 21, 2011 ] Very good ambient with very good service. Old british pub style on the look. Pool table. The selection is not so big but they ha ve some good argentinean micros and others. | giarcsr (9), Carlsbad, California does not count - explanation | | January 3, 2011 This place really looked like a brittish pub. Dark and dank and really nice. Beer selection was ok. Not too much on tap but a few Argentinian micros were which were nice to try. 1 handpump which was cool to see. Value wise, a full English pint for 15 pesos which is pretty cheap. In closing, atmosphere great, really cool place. Value, pretty cheap, and beer selection, the only really bad thing about the place. Very few options. Its worth checking out if your wandering the San Telmo markets, but not really worth going out of your way for. | | JohnRMurdoch (208), Glasgow, Scotland | | September 1, 2010 Very busy traditional but trendy pub in San Telmo district. Dim lighting makes it quite atmospheric. Good selection of Argentinian and international beers. Worth a visit but not really my sort of place. | | Nekronos (78), Xalapa, Mexico | | June 27, 2007 Good place to drink if you are desperate for good beers. I like the style, reminds me Brittish pubs, but defenitely the chips are not alike. The problem it has is too few places where to seat. | Lilith (6), Santiago, Chile does not count - explanation | | February 20, 2007 Simply great. This place really looks like an English pub. Beers are sold in pints. which is great and some are handpumped, which is awesome. Good beer, beatiful place. A total MUST in Buenos Aires. | | Gazza (153), Worcester, England | | October 8, 2006 Instantly recognisable by the large round ’Stella’ sign, this English-style pub sells beers from Antares, Del Castillo, Baires and Stone of Pilar including, on handpump, Stone cask IPA! The home-made beef burgers are absolutely superb and taste of beef not - erm - other things! An all-round top pub. Happy hour 20:00 to 22:00 when you get two beers for the price of one! Strangely, it seems like the beers are only served in pint glasses with no small measures available... | | Fukito (19), Ann Arbor, Michigan | | August 21, 2006
Based on the english pub theme. There is a decent selection of beers (macros and Stone Brewing beers on tap and a couple craft on bottles, usually Antares) a WIDE selection of whiskies too. The ambiance absolutely rocks, very friendly. Food is thypically pub like (picadas, fries, some english like food such as currry, fish and chips, etc). It has two main strengths: a great happy hour (two pints for $8 or 2,5U$S) and the only hand pump I know in Argentina (you can read my review on Stone´s Cask Conditioned IPA). Great place for an after-office!! I would put this place ambiance a 7 if I could. | | Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | June 6, 2006 A good find, recommended by Fukito!!! On the corner of Peru and Estados Unidos, you will find this fun pub, which has lots of Expats (mainly Brits and Aussies) mingling with the Portenos. They have a good selction of Argentine micros on taps and bottles, and an excellent happy hour, from 6PM till 10PM (2 for 1 on draft, for 7P, so about 1$US a pint!). And the food is quite good. I tried the Thai chicken with ginger root (15P or around 5$US). They also have burgers for the less adventurous. Service is at the Bar, even whenyou order food. Really enjoyed this place. And check out the mini alcove/terrasse and the pool room...where you have to go through the kitchen! |
