| job80 (10), , Belgium | | February 25, 2011 Atmosphere, nice place, great selection. Despite not so famous, this is one of my fav bar in the world. | | kermis (48), The Hague, Netherlands | | December 23, 2010 Small but with a great selction for it’s size and conveniently located across from the Cracked Kettle. | | flyer50 (41), Seattle, Washington | | November 20, 2010 Classic brown cafe with decent selection of Belgians rotating on tap and good bottle selection. I like to sit upstairs on a cold winter night.
A mandatory stop on your Amsterdam beer crawl. | | Damico (13), Royersford, Pennsylvania | | August 30, 2010 Small and dark like many Belgian beer bars. It had a nice collection of bottles on the wall. Fortunately we got a table in the small upstairs and were comfortable. The selection is unreal - being that I started out with a Westy 12 and 8 says that right away. The selection was large and of awesome quality and rarity, although we are in Holland right in the beer belt. They had tons of Belgian, Dutch, German, Czech, and other beers available. The list went around for quite a bit, very satisfying for new and experienced beer geeks. | | beerbuzzmontreal (45), Montreal, Quebec | | August 4, 2010 Cafe Gollem is a small, crowded, but not too noisy bar. The athmosphere is friendly, the tap list is limited, but the bottle list is extensive. | | kerolasa (13), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | July 29, 2010 One of the very best pubs in Amsterdam. Very cosy, nice guy behind counter and cat watching clients. Lavatory could be better, one can barely fit into it and scruffy outlook is not uplifting. | | Strebs (70), St. Louis, Missouri | | March 28, 2010 This is a very friendly place, that can provide a great introduction to traditional Belgian beers for anyone visiting Amsterdam. I’ve been there three times and met memorable people each time. | | lassem (30), Copenhagen, Denmark | | March 13, 2010 Old fashioned dark wooden place with alot of pathina and curiosa on the walls and on the cealing. You can get a lot of beers here. Unfortunately you dont get any new experimental or micro brews - but all the traditionals are here and maybe a few more. Its a cosy place that easely can call for a refill. | | abemorsten (72), Randaberg, Norway | | December 4, 2009 Small, dark and worn place with a fair selection of Belgian beers. Friendly and helpful staff in the bar, the place is pretty lo-fi, like a cosy cave. I would say it’s for people that are serious about beer, and I saw several beer tourists around, when I last visited in February 2009. | | Svesse (138), Hässelby, Sweden | | October 17, 2009 Nice bar just across the alley from De Gekraakte Ketel. Rather dark interior with a small space around the bar just inside the door and more seating halt a stair up. Rather dark and quite grotty interior. But nice and friendly place with efficient staff. Beer selection is mainly Belgian with some interesting stuff. Good selection of Belgian bottled beers. Tried a couple of Struise beers. Rather centrally located so a visit is definitely recommended. |
