| tronraner (110), Walland, Tennessee | | September 20, 2011 We came late Sunday morning--big mistake. Apparently their brunch deal draws a huge crowd. 40 minute wait to get seated. The place has a serious chain-restaurant feel about it, especially with it being that busy. The beer was ok, nothing to write home about. Food was pretty good, though. A simple question about the beer-cheese soup resulted in the chef coming and sitting down at our table and discussing it, so big points in the service category for that. | | BrianHagmeier (13), Coralville, Iowa | | April 1, 2010 The beer is okay...but the service is great. Once again, I was just talking beer with the bar maid and the brewer said, "let me show you the operation". You got to love brewery tours. It seams as though they only ferment and filter the beer there so it does get that bulk packaged blandness you taste in macro beers. | eager25 (4), Independence, Iowa does not count - explanation | | August 20, 2009 Good beer and food. Went with friends and sat outside. Enjoyed a couple beers and ate only appetizers. plenty of food for the four of us. Friendly staff | hike20 (4), Iowa does not count - explanation | | June 26, 2009 Joining the mug club makes this a better value. Tip: club memberships are 50% off every Monday (normally $20). Flat bread pizza is quite good especially the prosciutto olive. Decent menu items, though nothing too inspired. They have a very good Sunday brunch, but be prepared to wait for a table. Service has been mostly good. We had one bad experience in which they misplaced our order, but the manager went out of his way to make up for it with a discount off our overall ticket and free appetizer and desert! | | wilsomb (28), State College, Pennsylvania | | June 24, 2009 A bit pricy, but I did enjoy the beer and the food. Very elegant. It sure is nothing to go out of your way for, but if you are in Cedar Rapids, stop by for a meal and a brew. The beer is better than most chain brewers (like Rock Bottom) but still far below a good micro. | | nj4christ (14), Columbus, New Jersey | | December 18, 2008 [ Updated January 10, 2009 ] A bit pricy, but I did enjoy the beer and the food. It sure is nothing to go out of your way for, but if you are in Cedar Rapids, stop by for a meal and a brew. | | GJF (39), Cedar Rapids, Iowa | | June 25, 2008 It’s big, and it’s incredibly typical. Food is alright, beer is a decent value but not that great and on the whole it’s a bar without soul. | | KAF (100), Coralville, Iowa | | January 28, 2008 I go here to eat and not for the beer (chicken parmesan is great). The beer is not bad but nothing special. The service is always hit and miss but the food is always good. The usually have their four main beers and a seasonal as well as other domestics and the usual imports. Again, come for the food not for the beer. | | pepsiedcan (26), The Student Ghetto, Iowa | | October 25, 2007 I’ve eaten here twice, and both times I was not impressed. Each time it was just my girlfriend and I, and we were seated at huge tables. The wait staff took forever to get to our table both times, and almost seemed like we were bothering them by coming. The food is your normal american food, nothing great. Reminds me of that nice applebees microwaved taste with more salt added. Beer was decent, but boring. From what I was told they don’t brew the beer on site, even though it looks like they have the equipment. I won’t be going back any time soon. | | Hawksfan17 (63), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | April 12, 2007 I didn’t know this was a chain until I got home. It sure looked like one inside but you never know. Nothing noteworthy here. I did like their stout, but it wasn’t heavy enough for me. They serve huge portions of food and it isn’t half bad. Everyone is friendly and they are quick with service. |
