This is a great place, wide selection of beer and decent food with reasonable prices. The atmosphere is fun and the crowd is mixed from barely legal age to old farts like me. The bar tenders are good and responsive. Grab a seat at the bar if you can find one. Enjoy!

Good food, especially the buffalo fries and wings. Good need selection and a cool ambiance. Definitely would visit again.

was in the city for their annual beer week and the event mandated a journey her, to Portlandís beloved Great Lost Bear and their great beer list of some 70 drafts - mainly Maine brews, natch. Located about 2 miles north of downtown, the Bear lives behind a modest storefront benaeth a green awning. Upon entry, you find a lively place: a fun and lively dining room to one side, an active bar to the other. All amid an exuberant display of beer paraphanalia. Kids are more than welcome.
The food menu is ecclectic and loaded with a variety of choices: I went for the cajun chicken wrap and chili, the latter being a particular specialty here.
This was my fourth visit and, hopefully, not the last. To anyone wishing to partake of the malted beverages without the prospect of a DWI, the city bus No, 2 passes right by the front door. Donít you pass this place up.

Ed from Churchkey and Maxís fame turned me on to this place. Itís a big place with lots of nooks and crannies, so you can be as public or as private as you like. The beer list was large, with a handful f things we did not see elsewhere during our entire trip. Definitely worth a look.

Big draught list and tasty food - but the main drawbacks for me are the service which can be very, very slow (even to grab a few beers, let alone order food) and I usually end up with someone whoís kind of hungover or distracted. However, there are some beers here that you canít get anywhere else on draught. Just be sure to double check freshness - with lists that large thereís always a chance that something might be a little past its date.

Great place to take a date or hang out with buddies. This is my favorite place to go in Portland. They have daily drink specials and really good food.

Awesome bar, unmatched selection of beers on tap in the Portland area - especially if you like belgians. Food: pub fare, with a LOT of choices, but I recommend sticking to the classics -- burgers, wings in particular.

This seems more like a biker bar than a craft beer bar, though it seems they cater to all, given the "tower of beer" available for the macro lovers. The decor reports of yesteryear with old photographs of the area. The staff seemed like they were just going through the motions of a job that was keeping them away from other things.

Visited before the Shelton brothers beer fest. Several beers on draft made for the fest. Impressive tap list lots Iíve not seen both fest beers and Maine beers. Did a couple samplers really good. Had nachos. Some of the Maine beers were hit and miss. Excellent beer stop.
