The brewpub at the main brewery. Good beer in an industrial setting with a fun mix of beer geek, dogs and locals. All their offerings available right from the source. Try the 483 Pale Ale - one of the better local ales I’ve had around here - or the Straight Pipe Stout. Since this is the brewery location, occasional treats are to be had (barrel conditioned treats).

Have visited on a couple of occasions. Mixed results with the bartender on hand, once he was friendly and another time not so much. Beer is affordable, but most is average at best. Coffee stout is fantastic. They used to have a homebrew gathering that was fun, not sure if it is still going. Worth a stop if the coffee stout is on.

Fun little place with some good beers. If you can make it when they’re tapping a new beer, it’s even better. They’ll have food and The Cupcake Lady will bake mini-cupcakes using the beer in the recipe. There are no TVs, only background music and only their beers (which I actually like). Doesn’t hurt that they’re only a couple miles from my house! The only negative is that service could be more attentive. That is more the exception than the rule. So don’t let that deter a visit.

Terrific brewpub - visited here on Nov. 26, 2011. Very nice bartender, had a flight of 6 beers for about $5. Cool small brewpub vibe, and the beers were all excellent.

So, this is just a taproom for the prewery itself, which I just found out about last year. A pretty friendly place, with an outdoor beer garden when in season, and a single bar inside. Friendly staff, and friendly locals who like to come in and try out some new craft beers like me. Guess I forgot to write down the price of the sampler tray I had, but it was very reasonable, and included their seasonal pumpkin rye and what is apparently one in a series of Templeton barrel projects. No food menu, though I suppose you could BYO or have something delivered. As GraniteSkunk mentioned, looks still a bit like an old auto garage, making for some nice informal space (and reminding me of Kelly’s on Rt. 66 in Aluquerque). A great space to try out one of Iowa’s more interesting new brewers. Yes, growler fills and packaged beer in 16-oz. can 4-packs. Do stop by.

Woo, my first placed added here on RateBeer, let’s hope I did it right. First, I want to say that the phone number was listed on their website, but it’s a Cali area code, so who knows. Now, on to Great River. It’s a small-ish place in an old auto repair garage. The bartenders are very friendly, and know the selection pretty well. They only have their brews on tap, and always have a barrel-aged beer available. Usually, the barrel-aged beers are in Templeton Rye barrels, but there have been a couple -bal Heaven Hill offerings as well. Growlers fills to go, although you should bring your own glass, because they’re frequently out of theirs. They’ll fill any brewery’s glass. Sundays are $6 growler fill days. Seating inside is limited, but they do have a patio. Cans are available to go, as well. Seek this little place out, if you’re in the QC area, and you’ll be rewarded.
