OK, it’s a beer place with some nice beers on tap (they got 57 taps), but a little more design and attention to the plaace itself would be nice still. Bartender just started the day I visited. Will be back for sure.

Ambiance: it’s a shack with picnic tables in back, next to a high-rise. Service: You order from the bar. Selection: on the day we visited they had a decent selection of mostly IPA’s and Stouts, but not much else, good local selection, but nothing world class. No food. Prices are average. Overall, this is a good place to drink a beer with friends if you don’t expect much.

While they are often out of several taps, something about the ambiance of this establishment appeals to me. It has gone through several owners in the past 10 years since I've been going there, but it has managed to keep its charm. Instead of a generic bar, it feels like walking into someone's home. The patio a great when the weather is nice.

No real reason for a beer geek to go here with the Ginger Man is so close. I mean, the GM isn’t world class. But it is much better than Hans’ for beer selection. Not bad ...just rather pointless.

Based on 4 visits over several weeks. It looks like a small shack from the street, but no worries, in the back is a large open air deck area. Granted, they can smoke out here so beware. Great POTENTIAL selection of taps, but most of the best ones are inevitably out. Perhaps a sign of the times. The usual bartender is a nice guy, straightforward, gets you what you want. Prices are way out of line in my opinion though. This place is typically my most expensive bar tab for the week, serving only limited hophead beers. Nothing to brag about given the poor availability and selection of late, but it’s decent when not in full swing.

Nice, laid back lil’ place tucked on the outskirts of Rice Village. Nice tap selection (online menu is not current) and bottle selection. A lot of the beers on tap were out, so that was a bummer. All in all, a nice beer selection and a nice atmosphere.
