62 I used to go here and get all kinds of singles before they closed. They moved though and are located in Brooklyn. Have not visited the new one but I heard they wanted to turn it into a sports bar and store. They always had a great selection and I hope they open an NYC location again. |
60 THEY TOOK THE MONEY. THEY HAD AS MANY DIFFERENT BEERS AS YOU COULD STORE IN A SMALL STORE. THEY SEEMED TO OVERCHARGE (SOMETIMES OUTRAGEOUSLY) FOR THE BEER. THERE WERE SOMETIMES A GOOD BUY OR TWO. HEY! MANHATTAN CAN SEEM LIKE THAT. THEY HAD A SELECTION. |
62 TO ALL the Beer LOVERS "HAPPY DELI IS MOVING TO BROOKLYN and I am so excited about that ’cause I’m looking to relocate in Brooklyn heights ". HAPPY DELI WILL BE RELOCATED ON 160 COURT STREET COBBLE HILL BROOKLYN! Happy Deli’s people will switch trade from off-permise to on-permise in cobble hill...I’ll keep you updated as soon as I get more informations!

78 Great little beer store disquised as a deli on 8th street about a block away from the hustle and bustle of Time Square. At least 400 bottles, did not have enough time to really investigate it all. Great selection of East coast micros. Prices are a tad steep - average of $2.99 per 12 oz bottle - but when you consider a bar down the street was advertising a special of $5.00 Michelob Utra bottles - you realize that the prices are not that bad! If you are near Time Square stop by for a sandwich and a mixed sixer. |
72 Gulden Drak---$20 for the 25 oz. That’s a sample of what you’re up against here. A bottle of Aventinus will run you $6. Happy Deli is the only place where I’ve been able to buy Schwelmer beers, I guess that’s a good thing. |
40 I used to live nearby this spot and never purchased anything due to the high prices. For the amount you’d lose on any single, you could take the subway to one of the beer distributors mentioned below, or bierkraft in park slope, which seems to be close in the running with this place, and has much better ambiance for the prices you’re paying. I guess if you’re in midtown after 10pm and you just need a microbrew in a bottle (as there are some bars on 8th ave that have rotating domestic micros on tap) , this is the place to go.

38 Oh my God, these prices aren’t high, they’re insulting. The owner should be shot for high crimes against alcoholics like myself. Good selection. |
50 Very nice selection, but the prices are high. I have not found the employees to be friendly, but the cashier is quite friendly. |
64 Great selection indeed but the prices are very high ! |
48 Wow, didn’t expect this in a corner deli in Midtown. Incredible, organized selection of singles in the fridges. But agreed... the prices are out of control. $2.49 is a bargain for a non-macro in this place. And those are rare. A good place for buying a beer you absolutely can’t find anywhere else and need to have. |
