| AtlAggie (11), Atlanta, Georgia | | June 23, 2009 Great little bottle shop in what seems to be a pretty quiet SF neighborhood. Parking was easy. Not very big space, but a really awesome selection of bottles makes up for it--quality is packed into every available square inch. Really nice staff behind the register, willing to talk beer and offer local suggestions to out-of-towners like me. Prices seemed average--maybe a little above. Most of the beers I looked at were a couple of dollars cheaper at City Beer (which I visited the next day), but you get 10% if you buy six or more, so it was pretty much a wash. Bonus for being able to mix & match your own six packs. Definitely worth seeking out! | | wavers1 (32), novato, California | | June 13, 2009 great place. its tiny and very comfortable as you can talk to the clerk from anywhere in the tiny store. dave and the rest of the staff are very knowledgable, friendly and funny. daves got a great sense of humor and is very down to earth. parking is generally pretty good in this neighborhood, so you usually don’t have to carry boxes too far. they have a good selection of craft gelato, chocolate and cheese. thier selection is pretty much unrivaled. they have a lot of stuff in a small space, and all of its damn good, literally no cheap beer in sight. the selection changes regularly as dave really has his finger on the pulse of the craft brew community and keeps many unique and limited brews in stock at all times. i found HOTD adam and doggie claws, port 3rd anniversary, and many too rare to mention here. the prices are ok on some, but a lil pricey on most. not too bad, overall its still way more than worth it for the selection that you will find at this bottle shop. rr’s were priced the same as the brewery, cetain ales were actually quite good deals if you knew what you were looking at. | | Gypsy19 (11), California | | May 30, 2009 A nice little store with a good selection and great service. The value is par, but I like the way you get 10% off your total if you buy 6 bottles. The clerk was very helpful and pretty knowledgeable. Highlights included Mikkeller (including Black and Breakfast), Hair Of The Dog, and Lost Abbey. Maybe I got lucky, but there was a parking spot right in front of the joint on my first pass; Not common for San Francisco. | | MeisterBrew (14), Cheyenne, Wyoming | | May 18, 2009 Online order. Great place to get my Russian River beers from. Dave is very quick to respond to my email questions. Selection is great... His beer list is second to none. Shipping seemed a little steep, but getting some really hard to get beers made it well worth it. I will definitely order from here again. | djtimeless (7), Florida does not count - explanation | | May 3, 2009 I order from here on a regular basis. They have all the RR brews I want. Rami and Dave are great. Shipping is good. Prices are fair. Alot of times I get some really hard to find stuff from them. I will continue to order from them. | | illidurit (14), Santa Cruz, California | | November 29, 2008 A couple friends and I went well out of our way (the heart of San Francisco on a Santa Cruz-to-Berkeley trip) to find Healthy Spirits. Upon entering I was awestruck, as the tiny corner cafe boasted an entire wall of refrigerators, each stocked to the brim with high-rated and hard-to-find beer. 4 Russian Rivers, St. Bernardus Abt 12 Special Edition, a bunch of trappists, and dozens of other Belgians.
I found the prices fair enough considering the rarity of the beers I bought (made a healthy dent in the Russian River section), but this place is very generous with discounts. I got 5% off for mentioning BA and 5% off for buying 6 or more beers.
I’ll surely be back again. | | Hophead22 (52), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California | | September 22, 2008 Excellent store. David was very helpful and extremely knowledgeble. Offered up some goodies that weren’t on display, and took into the back room, very cool. Great selection, very well organized, good prices as well. Would highly recommend to anyone in SF. Dave also threw in some Hummus and flat bread to help soak up the alcohol later on(very good I must say). | | BMan1113VR (108), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | July 21, 2008 Great place. Went in there twice with my grilfriend to see there selction. Both times the people were amazingly accomodating and friendly. Rami is great (my girlfriend says Dave is too). Both know a lot about beer and are very interested in sharing the beer love. Was allowed in the back to see some of there aged stuff (ask around, they got some good stuff in there). Rami says they might start shipping soon. Tons of lambics available and lots of hard to find Europeans, lots of Russian River and certain hard to find Deschuets bottles, they even have some Due de Ciel. Great place, will return often. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | July 21, 2008 Quite a good selection More than a dozen ales I had not rated. Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder were in stock, and relatively plentiful. Rami allowed inspection and purchase of the rarer beers in back, although restricting some very rare singles. Detailed explanation of the search for the uncommon ales. Very educational. | tristrammedia (1), San Francisco, California does not count - explanation | | February 9, 2008 A great corner store with a great selection of Belgian/micro beers, cheeses, homemade middle-eastern food, and imported stuff from the UK. They have tasting notes for all the beers, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. |
