Large, Munich beer hall style room. German music playing and a great scene. Server was distracted, but polite. Not a huge selection, but tasty. Food was very good.

Cool beerhall place that certainly seems a page out of Germany’s book. They even played polka music on the Tuesday night I was here. Beers are mostly solid, easy drinking German styles. They served flights when I was there. Cool view on the patio from the river, and good service.

Visited for a later lunch with travlr. The Place is located in a mall area and parking is pretty difficult. I parked in a parking garage a few blocks away, so come here planning to pay to park. Large building located right on the river. There is a large porch on the river that you can sit on as well. Inside is a huge bier hall. They had 6 different beers on tap, all german styles, and you could order a flight of 5 and add the 6th for another $2 (I think). Beers were all decent. The food was mostly German, but I had the bourbon dunkel glazed chicken sandwich. It was alright, but I think I would get something different next time. The server was very nice and checked up on us often. We were here for awhile, and that didn’t seem to bother her. I would come back, but probably wouldn’t make it a beer destination.

Kitsch at its best. Strangely, no parking at all, although we found a parking garage after circling for a bit. Nice location by the river, and you can choose to sit at covered tables overlooking said river if you like, although the view from the indoor riverside tables is also pretty good. Inside is pretty bare, just a few Bavarian flags and some TVs playing scenes from the Theresienweise. Thankfully they had flights, so you don’t have to drink liters unless you want to. They had one seasonal, a pils. All were unremarkable. Food was filling. Worth a stop.

Come expecting German food and beer, and that’s exactly what you get. Not much selection, but solid fare and decent German weissebiers.

I went here to watch the World Cup final and the place was really packed. I was able to get seated outdoors, but their was no TV in that area, but I watched partially on my phone until the 2nd half. The service for being so crowded was very good. The server checked on my table 5 or 6 times during the hour I was there. The food was excellent and the ambiance of being there during the WC finals was amazing. Although it isn’t the original, you do get friendlier service. 5 beers on tap at a time. The prices weren’t terrible and were less than I expected. Parking wasn’t expensive either in a garage.

A solid brewpub in South Side, Pittsburgh. Valet parking only, but you can find street parking a few blocks away. It’s a huge place with 4 large fermenting tanks outside. They have a bar, a bunch of booths, several long benches German hall style, and several outdoor patio seating areas. I believe they have daily music (German style of course). As far as beers, they have 4 regulars - premium lager, light, hefe, and dunkel. They also have a seasonal which changes each month. The beers are of surprisingly good quality for a chain - even though I am not really a German beer fan, I can always fall back on the premium lager. The beers are served in half or full liters at pretty amazing prices ($9 ish for a liter of beer!). They also have a gameday Steelers special which is a blend of the hefe and dunkel and is pretty tasty. The food menu is German style, of course, and it’s pretty good. I haven’t had much to complain about. They have monthly food specials as well. Overall, I think this place gets a bad rep because it’s a chain, but I enjoy myself whenever I’m there. The beer is surprisingly good, too.

Atmosphere is really fun. Big German beer hall with c-shaped bar on the front left. Big wooden tables with big wooden benches. I asked how much the six-packs were and the lady said I didn’t want to buy them (she was saying they were expensive). The waitress was nice and gave me a sample of the hefe. The hefe was good. You can park on the street (if you can find a spot) or pay three bucks to park all day at the garage which is a few blocks away. The second time I went we had food, Jagersnitzel was great. Sampler was all of their brews and was cheap. Half liters was reasonable also. Surprised so many families were there. Guy singing and playing keyboard. A guy was making balloon animals for the kids. Really kid friendly. They have a little shop you can buy a variety of paraphernalia. Good time was had by all.
