Great beer selection and prices are reasonable. Food is top notch as well. Had the pork belly that was outta this world. Not your typical pub grub.

A bar in a little, old brick church? Why not? The renovation is cool. World class tap list. Always helpful and knowledgable servers. Food selection is limited but everything is great.

Really trendy new bar in Louisville, owners have a passion for beer and it shows, that has a hip feel to it. Beers tended to be a little overpriced though some were very rare. Service has been hit or miss, I’ve had great service before and I’ve had the worst snot nosed pretense filled service I’ve ever had in any beer related establishment. Definitely worth going if you’re in the Highlands or are on a quest to try something rare. *Update* Went back again and hoped for better service, was a failure. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Only changed my overall and service ratings. Selection is still great.

Very unique establishment. There’s few places that I look forward to visiting these days, but the Holy Grale is at the top of my list. I enjoy learning more about beer and this place fits the bill. Knowledgeable folks, great service and rotating selections.

One phrase comes to mind when I think about the Holy Grale, "world class". They serve world class beers and they couple that with a world class staff. Super informative beer tenders who have never made me feel stupid about not being able to fully pronounce the long Belgian names of some of the beers that are served. The food is out of this world good and they are quick to offer a pairing. This place is not just a bar its a beer nerds house of worship.

I cannot say enough good things about this place, its owners, its service, its selection, etc. This is by far my favorite place to go in Louisville. Many of you will laugh, and the haters will all make fun, but my fiance and I got engaged at the Holy Grale this summer because it is one of our favorite places to spend our time together. We are huge beer nerds and homebrewers. Not to be a hater myself, but I can only assume the negative comments made on here about the grale are by people that 1. are not open minded and 2. are not true beer lovers. How can you say the food is worth the price but not the beer? I am not saying this to start anything, so don’t respect a response if you are the kind of person that spends your time deffensively answering everyone’s accusations on chatrooms, blogs, fb, etc. I just want to defend my favorite place. Great environment, great people, great food, great beer, and all for the right price! Oh and to the person that loved the Dogfish event, they had one like that last year with Dogfishead, Three Floyds, and Founders, and it was only about a month ago that they had Cantillon Zwanze day, one of about 10 bars in the US to hold such an event. I’m sure they will have many more like that in the future!!!:)

It would be hard to find a place with more intelligent attention to selection, decor, menu information, service - and incredibly smart selections of music on the sound system. It is always a joy to go to the Grale.

A beautiful old building that was once a church lends the Holy Grale the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a few of the world’s best beers. Pricing is generally between $4.75 and $7, I’d say $6 on average. Certainly fair for the quality of the beer. You’ll find beers here that you just won’t have a chance of finding anywhere else in Louisville. I consider myself knowledgeable about beer, and I regularly find beers on the draft list that I’ve never even heard of, much less tasted. It’s always an adventure. :) The food is reasonably-priced and very good. Best fritjes and carnitas around. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Good food, awesome beer, amazing selection, great staff...what’s not to love?
