The beer selection is adequate with a good selection of local brews, imports, and micros. The biggest reasons to go here are they sometimes have beers that have already sold out at Bruisin’ Ales and the prices are lower. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Homebrew supplies and instructional classes are available here. It’s a cool little store located in western Asheville.

Visited here in March, 2009. Previous rating deleted accidentally. Located in Western Asheville. Small store with an ample selection of beers, as well as some wine. A couple of coolers but most of the beer is not chilled. Some singles are available. They also sell homebrewing supplies and offer classes. Localed a block away from a good beer bar, which is cool. The person working was very nice and helpful. Worth a stop.

I stopped by here on my way back from Brewgrass looking for an item that had been back ordered at several other shops, but with no luck. A little bit of wine, a little bit of beer and some homebrewing supplies. I did find some beers that had sold out at Brusin’ Ales at significantly lower prices I might add. The guy at the register was helpful, eager to order anything not in stock for me, and he appeared to know his brewing. This place may be new, and if it is, it might be worth watching.

Over on the other side of Asheville. It doesn’t have quite the selection Bruisin has, but it’s pretty good. I managed to find enough to spend a good bit even after going to Bruisin Ales. Seemed to be some homebrewing supplies in the far back, but I was concentrating on the beers. The layout is clean and open and the person working, I assume the owner, was very friendly.

Nice ambiance on Haywood road in West Asheville. They have free tastings periodically, and a selection of beers you cannot find elsewhere. They also carry some wine (although the beer seems to be the main draw). They have a limited amount of refridgerated beer, they do do singles on most selections. They don’t have any macro anything. The largest distribution beers this store has is like Anchor Steam, or Victory, or Brooklyn Brewing. This is a good store for those hard-to-find seasonals, big bottles and imports.

A nice little shop on a side of town that has been needing its own bottle store for quite some time. Alex runs the shop, and is quite an accomplished homebrewer in his own right. Finishing as a finalist in the Sam Adams Longshot competition. Part wine store, part beer store and part homebrew supply. This is a concept that I hope really takes off.
