MagooinPA (3), Warminster, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | June 29, 2011 I am from Philly so I am spoiled when it comes to availability of good to great beer bars. Here in Estero during the off season (summer), this is a must visit beer bar and as good as it gets down here. Pub type menu with some seafood (great fish tacos) and lots of fired foods. Did not try the wings because it was 98F out and great wings are aplenty at home. I’m 2 miles from the Gulf, I’m eating fish!
They had 8 taps of good beer with a couple being hard to find (oaked Un-Earthly) , GFH 90 min, + 2 Victory choices. Nice to see Victory has a nice presence down here. The bottle selection is impressive with about 40 bottles or so. It would be nice to see some Belgian choices other than Chimay.
we were there during happy hour and all pints were$3, even the Oaked Un-Earthly. | | BierBauch (30), Cape Coral Waterfront Wonderland, Florida | | June 20, 2011 [ Updated August 27, 2011 ] Stopped by here to see what was available on draught after reading other reviews. Found Jai Alai, Southern Tier Un-Earthly and DFH 90. Tried the fish tacos and was dissapointed but the fries were on key. Overall, they have 3 0rn 4 craft beers on draught and a few in bottles in bottles. Food, well basic barfood. will return for the beer and maybe try the wings. | | WesKBob (20), Bethany, Oklahoma | | January 26, 2011 Visited while on a work trip. I went there thinking I’d just get some wings and watch a football game after work. I ended up going back twice more during my trip. It’s much better than Buffalo Wild Wings or other chain wing places. Crazy selection of wing sauces and nice seafood menu as well. Staff was friendly, and the owner was a huge beer geek. Spent a lot of time just shooting the breeze about beer with him. And excellent beer prices for the area--$5 for a pint of DFH 90 minute IPA? $6 for Southern Tier Choklat? Yes, please. My only regret is that it’s 1500 miles away and I can’t go back for more. | BlackHops (1), does not count - explanation | | October 24, 2010 Visited August 2010, located smack dab in the heart of Coconut Point Mall. We were greeted by the owner Chris, the moment we stepped foot in the door. Great Wing/Seafood menu & exceptional service - Amazing selection of micros ranging from seasonals to local brewers.
The Blackened Mahi Tuna Burger paired excellent with my Cigar City Jai Alai IPA. Delishhhhh!
I’ll be revisiting Hurricane’s next time I’m near Estero. Highly recommended | | adam42381 (30), Fort Myers, Florida | | September 19, 2010 Good little wing joint at Coconut Point that just happens to have the best selection of beers in this area. The wife and I went last night and the wings were fantastic. They have a ton of sauces to choose from which is a big plus. The beer list may not have as many options as larger beer bars but they have a good number of great beers on tap and in bottles. We only had 4 beers but those were Cigar City Jai Alai and Bell’s Oberon on tap and Westmalle Tripel in a bottle and Oskar Blues Gordon Ale in a can. The service was excellent and the server seemed somewhat knowledgeable. The beer prices are a little high for this area but then again nobody else has their selection of craft beers either. My only negative is that the first beers were brought in chilled glasses so we made sure to order non-chilled glasses for the second round. We’ll be back for sure. |
