10 reviews for Jacks Bar in The Cannery
| Brewman63 (25), , | | November 21, 2009 Stopped in here by accident to use the restroom while in the Fisherman’s Wharf area and sure am glad I did. This place has great character, great waitstaff and great beer selection - and being in on of the most touristy-areas of the city. Each time we went to Fisherman’s Wharf we were sure to stop in, even if only for one pint (it’s awfully hard to have just one here).
| bigleigh (7), , England does not count - explanation | | October 4, 2009 The only place for beer if you’re in the Fishermans Wharf area, good selection of micro’s also found the barman very helpful, and knowledgable. | | handsomejn (19), Arkansas | | September 6, 2009 Great location, great selection, nice looking place, but run very poorly. First time there I had to interrupt the bartender doing shots to get my beer, second time the very good waitress explained that the kitchen was shutting down (just before the dinner rush) and we had to order now or get nothing, the third day I was served a Dogfish90 that was getting old, so I sent it back, bartender argued with me that it was supposed to have the butterscotch taste, but angrily gave me a different beer. He was really a jerk. Oh, and the place is cash only, can you imagine a bar in a very nice area of SF, not taking a credit card??? Wow. Did I mention they have a great selection? | | RuneStumo (19), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | | May 11, 2009 01.11.2008. Nice place with decent good selection. Fairly good service. The bar is located on the Fishermans warf so everyone can reach the place when the come to San Fransisco as a tourist. In Camras Good beer guide west coast USA the adress is 441 Jefferson st? | | pantani (65), Salinas, California | | October 19, 2008 Don’t bother going here. Very mediocre taps and high prices. | | caesar (119), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands | | October 16, 2008 Located in the touristy Fishermans Wharf area. Quite big sportsbar, with quite a decent range of taps. Not much atmosphere though. | | NoiZe (49), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands | | August 11, 2008 Touristic, but nice beer selection. Lot’s of micro brews. | | roder60 (31), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | May 6, 2008 [ Updated August 16, 2008 ] Awesome touristy bar down near fisherman’s warf. I’ve been to San Fran twice, both just for vacation, and if you are doing the city on foot, this one is a great place to crash at the end of the day as it is right in the heart of the tourist area, near lots of hotels. Real nice draft selection, though as mentioned, no hard to find beers, but many I had never tried as I’m from the east. I think drafts were a bit pricey ($5) but worth the selection. Nice clean place. Lots of good memories. | | kmeves (97), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin | | February 3, 2008 Great little beer bar just a short walk from the warf. Extensive tap beer selection focusing mainly on California micros. Service is top notch and correct glassware used with each style. My only regret is when I was here (2004) I hadn’t yet heard of Russian River and failed to sample there brews that were on tap. | | MIBRomeo (115), Wisconsin | | February 3, 2008 Cool little bar w/ a heck of a selection of tap beer. Unfortunately a lack of anything I would call special. They did have some items from Stone which I enjoyed though. An odd little place on the inside but worth a visit if your in the warf. |
