| NachlamSie (358), Tennessee | | May 21, 2012 This place is gorgeous. It’s in a large building which resembles a church on the inside with cathedral ceilings and stained glass. There is a cozy upstairs and an outside garden area as well. The selection is terrific. The expected Bells beers are available along with at least 6 rare offerings. I ate some soft pretzels with one of the best mustards and some kind of parmesan dip. Very delicious snack. The music was hip and suited the atmosphere perfectly. A general store is also here with beer to go and tons of cool swag and homebrew supplies. I loved my visit here, I consider it a must stop. | | b3shine (12), Cincinnati, Ohio | | May 13, 2012 I love Bell’s. The only thing I don’t like are the prices, which are higher at the Eccentric Cafe than Bell’s costs at other third party bars in the area. | jstraw (8), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | May 12, 2012 Quirky barn-like place with lots of seating including a lot of outdoor seating. Very pleasant spot to try a wide array of often-rare Bell’s brews. | | jcnielsen (26), Kansas City, Missouri | | May 11, 2012 I visited several breweries while in Michigan for a long weekend, and this place was by far the best. Awesome line-up of beers, I probably tried 20 different beers, including a bunch that I’ve never seen in Missouri. The atmosphere was really cool. I would definitely enjoy coming back here in the future. | | slimchill (82), Austin, Texas | | May 8, 2012 Great atmosphere. Very nice selection of non-bottled brews. Solid food. Highly enjoyable. | | Radek Kliber (72), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Poland | | April 30, 2012 Very friendly spot with great Bell beer list. I like vibe of this joint. Recomended. | | osu97gp (29), Atlanta, Georgia | | April 28, 2012 Nice open feel with lots of interesting things on the walls including some really cool stained glass windows. Visited on a saturday for Capa’s bachelor party and it was quite busy, but this could’ve also been due to the concert going on in the new stage are with a whole additional bar. Obviously only have Bell’s on tap but plenty of brewpub only varieties keep it fresh. Food selection was small but very tasty for the price. Definitely worth a visit. | | Capa (172), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | April 28, 2012 Nice open feel with a wide array of decor. A bit small but that didn’t seem to be an issue even with all the people there. A patio out back for outdoor drinking when the weather is nice. The regular lineup is available plus a lot of special brews on tap. Small food list but it’s all quite tasty. Service was nice though maybe a little cold. It was pretty busy though so that may be the case. I went here for my bachelor party and the 11 of us were able to grab a long picnic table and boozed it up all day. We took the tour and it was very informative. More than just a "this is where we brew" kinda tour. Lasted about 30-45 minutes. I would be a regular if I lived in Kalamazoo. | | deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | April 27, 2012 The best place to get draft only bells beers as well as brewery only bottles. Service is good even when busy. People bus their own seats so it can get messy. Really good sandwiches and everything is priced fairly. | funkyaudio (8), Chicago, Illinois does not count - explanation | | April 23, 2012 had already been a bell’s drinker for over a decade before i stepped foot into the cafe a few months ago.
we arrived at dinner time ready to eat and immediately forked over a sizable cover for a band outside that we never had any intention of seeing. our bartender was rude with absolutely no explanation whatsoever-- we were all familiar with the beers but had a question about size and were treated like we were martians.
with no seats available in or outside except for the extremely stuffy attic, we camped out upstairs alone, downed two delicious beers and left.
my entire group was comprised of big bell’s fans from across the state and we were all sorely disappointed. the night was saved when we ended up at old peninsula for awesome food and drink a few minutes later thanks to a quick phone call with a friend and western alumni. save yourself the trouble and pick up a six pack instead-- they’re really cheap locally. |
