Food is very good and during summer I like to sit in the small beer garden. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Wittales (30) Las Vegas, Nevada | December 15, 2012| Updated December 16, 2012 Love this place, wood decor with freindly staff. 20+ taps with onion rings.Great brews here with easy going atom.phere | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 saxo (111) Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark | July 17, 2012 Nice bar with 10 taps of their local brews. They do 4 samples for $5. Bartender knows his stuff and service was good. Didnt try their food. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 JDBaker11058 (29) Maryland | June 20, 2012 Ambiance: Typical mid-range brew-pub interior, with some nice views of brewing vessels, etc; decent patio out front. Service: Friendly, attentive, timely, seemed relatively knowledgeable about the beers. Selection: 10-15 house-made beers, most on tap but some only available in 22 oz bombers. Food: Dinner was great. I had a ridiculously awesome mac and cheese (with HUGE chunks of bacon and ham, and a delicious panko crust), my colleague had a massive burger he really enjoyed. Value: A taddish pricey, but comparable to a Ruby Tuesday or Outback. Two entrees, plus a flight of samples (4x3 oz), plus four total full-size beers = $60. Overall: Every single beer I tried was at least good, a couple were excellent. The food was great. On a weekday evening, it wasn’t crowded and the neighborhood is decent. If you’re in town on business, especially if your from the East Coast, get in there and try it. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 rumproasts (63) Grand Rapids, Michigan | May 3, 2012 only 10 beers are available. i tried almost all of them and found everything to be above average or better. the red trolley was exceptional.
food was also above average. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 drpimento (131) La Crosse, Wisconsin | November 7, 2011 I came here based upon last year when I was out here and had a really tasty bottle a their brew. And that it was just off the trolley route which for a lazy fuck like me adds a lot of charisma. They have a smallish patio in front which had an employee enjoying whilst he did some sort of arcane paperwork. Got a spot at the far end of the bar by the tap tower and immediiate service. Easy going bartenders and customers. Bartenders went from very accomodating to work a day. There’s a view of the brewery behind the back bar and a wide range of beers to look at from my spot. Great garlicy aromas in the air. Just got a very polite sniff an sample of an obscure tequila plata from the gracious bartender. Nice large oak bar, overhead is old school commercial, good lighting, sports on TV, growlers to go. I think my score should be better. But there you go. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 Terminus (278) Las Cruces, New Mexico | July 12, 2011 A pretty decent place if your staying in downtown SD. Dont go out of your way for it, but if your in town for a conference or some other event, you may want to give it a shot. the beer is average to just above. Food is tasty and the service is very good. it didnt hurt that our watress was really cute and friendly and seemed to know quite a bit about the beer they had. Definate bonus! | 76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 gsmitty80 (169) Washington DC | June 22, 2011 Buddy and I had a couple beers here and some good food. The service was very nice and attentive. Good experience. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 ghawener (70) San Salvador, El Salvador | January 1, 2011 Serve only 10 Karl Strauss beers and 1 (the Saison) was out... Food is OK. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 hamilton23 (11) Alpine, California | October 17, 2010 If you like Karl Strauss Beer, this is the place to go, but be warned...they have no guest taps. So you have your choice of ten taps, all pouring various varieties of Karl Strauss.
They have a cask night each Thursday night. Some have been better than others.
The food is pretty good. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich. Their turkey burger is also pretty tasty.
