70 Medium size liquor store. Beer is in the back on the right. Open coolers against the wall with some locals. Interesting shelves of European and other high end bottles. Many old selections. A few over priced bottles. I spend a fair amount of time going through the stock, but ultimately came out empty handed. Worth a look, but nothing that rare. |
98 Easily the best selection of beer bottles in the Orlando area (Redlight being the best on top, followed by Big C Liquor for bottles in Winter Park). Incredible selection of Euro beers (Mikkeler, To Øl, De Molen, Põhjala) as well as North American (Dieu Du Ciel!, Jolly Pumpkin Jester King, Prairie - I counted 34 different Prairies). Was disappointed to not find any Cigar City stuff, but did score a 6 pack of Bell's Expedition Stout. One of the best selections of stouts and farmhouse I've seen. |
82 Stopped in after Home Depot near my corporate apartment for next month. Big selection certainly some dusty offerings. The selection didn't have a lot of wow for me versus stuff I can't get in NYC. But helpful staff said they had some nice stuff behind counter and got a Last Snow Porter to celebrate my relo. Anyways grabbed a few other Florida locals without much thought. I'll probably stop in every so often for at least October. |
82 Stopped by on a weekday night right before Christmas. Medium sized beer/liquor store. A great selection of different beers; it is especially nice that you can pull singles out of any six-pack. We loaded up on around 4 six-packs of mostly local Florida beers. As one reviewer noted below, they have a pretty big international beer selection. However, judging by amount of dust on the international bottles and the dates on some of the bottles, I would probably avoid this section. Overall, though, a great stop. A big selection, and I was very happy to pick up quite a few local and regional beers that I hadn’t had before. |
90 GREAT bottle shop. ordered via email close on ~$500 of beer before my trip, and they had it all packed up ready to go into car when i arrived, |
78 I liked this place even with seeing old beer. Some nice stuff like a cigar city behind the counter. Beer geek staff decent prices and nice selection. |
52 Bear in mind my score is not relative to FL stores, but rather worldwide...if this is better than most FL beer stores, then I feel bad for the folks who live here. The main problem here is the old age of the beers. It’s easy to get excited at first by the import selection (the US micro selection is relatively thin, even the FL stuff), at least if you don’t care about freshness. Most beers are 2-4 years old (!!) here, and even with US beer it was challenging to find much that was before their BB date (and those were very close). So while I took a chance on a couple of undated Gaenstaller beers (both of which were oxidized beyond being rateable and got dumped down the drain, sadly), a 4-pack of 2012 Rayon Vert (hilarious, right? but one of the few non-lambic beers that can hold up for this long...I still have a couple in my own stash at home), and a couple single bottles of FL micros, I left here extremely disappointed. A 6% Mystic saison from summer 2014? Uhhh, no thanks. There certainly are lots of beers to choose from, don’t get me wrong, but almost without exception they are ancient and rotting. Reminds me of the high rating of Sergio’s in Louisville, KY, another place that specializes in stale bottled beer. There is honestly no reason to come here unless you like old, stale beer. |
86 Made it over here to load up for my hotel room. Awesome service and breaking up any six pack was fantastic, so I was able to bag quite a few Florida brews. Also had some nice harder to find bottles sitting around. Very nice selection of international beers and making me want to go back to get some more stuff before my trip is over. Also, got a 5% discount with my purchase of a bunch of singles. |
72 Visit here if you are looking to get some ticks. They have lots of beer but the focus is more international and us beers. There really aren’t that many local beers from Florida, there is Terrapin than Florida beer. They allow all 6 packs to be broken apart, so you can get lots of things to try for cheap. However, if you’re looking for some rarer stuff or Florida centric store there are probably better options out there. |
82 A good selection of imports, a decent selection of regionals. |
