A very large brewpub in central Strasbourg with a large outdoor seating area as well. There is a bar on the main level and dining on the second level. This was not crowded at all, but we were here for a later lunch. The beer was solid and the food very good. The waiter spoke some English, and provided spectacular service. There were 4 house beers on tap plus a couple in bottles/mini kegs.

We fell upon this place by complete happenstance, entering because it was a restaurant that was open, in our face and the weather was very cold. Located in one of Strasbourg’s main squares, it happened to be a so-called brewpub. Actually, they have their own recipes made for them at the Storig brewery. The place is large, multi-roomed and floored and was almost empty on the Saturday early evening we visited. We had an Alsacian flam that was below average and a decent chocolate mousse that was the only alternative to ice cream and surprisingly expensive at 6 euros. The beers were very damn poor, extremely thin and mostly aromatized stuff at premium prices. The waiter did not know what a stout was when my girlfriend enquired whether the coffee beer was a stout. A restaurant in a touristic town that happens to have its own bad beers brewed for it. I would recommend against it in a better beer city, but Strasbourg is not loaded with great alternatives.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The place is a bit of a mix between posh and Alsacienne. The beers are mediocre but the food is very nice. Especially the traditional dishes that we ordered. Location is perfect right on the large central square.
