| SledgeJr (106), Omaha, Nebraska | | June 29, 2010 This was the first brewpub that I ever visited in Nebraska in 1990. Brass and glass decor, super service, delicious food. The standard offerings are always solid and flawless, but I wish that they’d take more brewing style risks for the geeks. Of course, geeks don’t keep the doors open. | amckee (4), Plano, Texas does not count - explanation | | August 9, 2009 Lazlo’s beer is quite good and the food is excellent. The service is often patchy and the wait staff sometimes like to assume that you are done and ready to leave even if they aren’t busy. | | chicagodri (58), Chicago, Illinois | | July 8, 2009 Was here for a wedding party dinner so we were upstairs for the majority of the night. Food wasn’t anything special...I think I have been spoiled by Rock Bottom. Decent beer selection. Very nice and helpful staff, I liked them a lot. Still no Rock Bottom though. | | jb43 (47), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | June 20, 2009 Nice sports bar type atmosphere. Plenty of seating at the bar. Bartender was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Had 9 beers on tap from Empyrean Brewing Company, which borders the restaurant. Good selection of brews. Nice variety and quality. Food was good but not great. Good prices, and nice happy hour deals. Nice to see good craft beer in the middle of Nebraska. | | eboats (32), Omaha, Nebraska | | December 10, 2005 I visit this place quite often. While the beer is not spectacular it is still solid. The food here is fantastic and the service is great. It is in downtown Lincoln and has a nice interior. If you are in town for a game day the down town one is a must visit for the craziness. | | mdi (15), Nebraska | | June 19, 2005 [ Updated June 29, 2005 ] Originally this was the brewpub, now the brewing has moved to the other side of the block to make way for more brewing capacity, and more seating here. Walking in you are greeted in front of a small bar area that is basically the waiting room for dining. There are about 15-20 seats around it though. Menu is solid ranging from burgers to steak and seaford with a couple of veggie items as well(portabella sandwhich for one). Beers are good, but usually served too cold and in frosted glasses(I can’t taste my beer!). I usually request a warm glass and get it. Fries are good, along with honey mustard and the creamy garlic sauces. Always a good choice for lunch/dinner and a pint or 2. And just maybe the beer can be a bit better down here since their tap lines don’t run as far(as compared to the Lazlo’s South), but that really depends on what’s selling and whose pouring. Given your proximity, either are equally good. The nice thing about the Haymarket location is that you don’t have to hear the kitchen staff yelling...they stick ’em in the basement here! |
