Le Cheval Blanc - Brasseur Artisan & Bar

Busy and larger bar (and brewery) in the latin quarter of Montreal, QC, Canada. The bar was well attended (basically full) and noisy. But OK, I got to sit at the bar, which is my favorite place. Service was good. Selection was only of their own beers, can't remember exactly how many. Overall nice, but maybe there's better ones.

A dark, old-style pub close to the bust station, not far from downtown. Doesn't look too nice, but it is pretty fine. Decent tap list, nice prices. All in all an ok place.

Nice place just 5 minutes from Q.L. Old Style Bar with a nice selection of own & guest beers. Very charming staff, with some little conversation problems (she only spoke French, me not fluently), but very smart and funny. Nice beer selection and good prizes. Quite chilling. Worth a visit.

Place looks like a large french bar from early 1950s. Red lights but nothing like a stripclub. 11 beers of their own. Try Napoleon farm ale and Coco Bonheur which were good. Service ok.

Visité un samedi après-midi ensoleillé. Très grand établissement avec une belle terrasse à l’avant qui tombe rapidement à l’ombre et rend l’intérieur très sombre. Une douzaine de bières en fûts étaient offertes allant de la bière au fruits au vin d’orge barriqué en passant par des ipa et stouts. Bon service au début mais qui devenait plus lent par la suite. Les prix sont très bien comparés à d’autres places du genre.

Visited on a Tuesday evening. Fairly large place with a narrow sidewalk patio. Weird atmosphere, dark local tavern meets Chinatown strip-club. About a dozen beers on tap and a decent selection of bottles, mostly limited-release beers from around the province and a few Belgian imports. Fast and friendly service. Though I wouldn’t spend my evening there, it’s a worthy way to start the night.

Cool place that we stopped at on a whim. The ambiance inside was kinda bad and looked more like a dark strip club type atmosphere with very few people inside. The beers however were unique, varied, and actually quite good. Cash only was a bit of an oddity as well but we got Cantillon and house beers and it was a good stop all around.

Remarkable experience. I mean, it looks unassuming from the outside with only white bold font on the building so you have arrived at the right place. It was evening and inside was packed with an after-work crowd rather than seedy clientele as this place would assume on entering. Interesting ambiance as it’s very dark inside with only a red glow of lighting to compensate. The beers are pretty good all things considered. The bartender was friendly and provided fast service. I’m not a big fan of the venue but would come back to try more of the house brews.
